TW: panic attacks are mentioned while they're on the ferris wheel so here is a warning for it. be cautious if that sort of thing tends to trigger you, thank you.

Prompt: Zoe and Madison are on a ferris wheel, and everything is going great - until it gets stuck at the very top. For thirty whole minutes.

Madison was still unsure of why she was doing this as she waited in the ever shortening line for the ferris wheel at the county fair. Normally the blonde college sophomore could be found playing computer games and talking to her online friends scattered out across the world on Saturday nights, but for whatever reason, she had allowed herself to be dragged out of the house by her childhood best friend Mallory by the promise of the brunette writing her next psychology end of term paper for her, which she was starting to regret more and more as the line continued to grow shorter and shorter.

"Cmon Mads, don't worry. It'll be alright, I'll be right next to you the whole time." Mallory reassured her as she squeezed her hand, and the blonde felt some of the nerves dissipating at the reassurance. Madison willed herself to move forward as they became the next ones in line to board the ferris wheel, and her heart dropped to her stomach as she saw that there was only one more empty seat left, and by the looks of it, Mallory would be claiming the seat.

"You get to ride the next one blondie." The ferris wheel attendant said montously as Mallory pulled away from her, giving her hand one last squeeze before sliding into the last available seat, giving her a pity filled glance as her seatbelt was checked by the snarky attendant. Madison felt herself panicking more and more as it set in that she would be riding with a complete stranger, and she nearly stepped out of line before she caught a glimpse of her best friend near the top, who smiled down at her and waved.

"I can do this, it's just a ferris wheel." She muttered to herself, hoping to make herself feel braver before she got on, but by the time the previous batch of riders got off, she wasn't feeling any better about the situation. Mallory smiled at her as she exited the ride, but not even that was enough to make Madison feel better about the situation. She stepped up onto the platform and sat in the seat to the left, quickly grabbing the seatbelt and clicking it into place before she lost the last bit of braveness she had left in her. Her eyes dropped to her lap, where she nervously fiddled with her fingers, hoping and praying she was sat next to someone who wasn't a creep or anything of that nature.

"Hi." A feminine voice said as the cart shifted with the additional weight of another person, and Madison could have sworn the whole world stopped spinning as she looked into the eyes of the beautiful girl sitting next to her. Her straight brunette hair framed her oval face in a way that looked completely natural, but all the blonde could do was stare at her smile, which looked especially bright under the lowlights of the ferris wheel. It was almost dizzying staring at her, which is why she looked away timidly before shooting her a small greeting smile.

"Is this your first time on a ferris wheel?" The stranger asked as she folded her hands on her lap, and Madison cringed at the question, which made a frown form on her face. She immediately felt bad for her reaction, but she was too shy to say anything in defense, so her gaze dropped back down to her lap.

"Sorry for prying, it's just I understand how you're feeling because I felt this way my first time too."The girl said after a few beats of silence, and Madison looked at her with awe in her eyes. She always thought she was fairly decent at reading people, but this girl was the grandmaster of it, and that was oddly satisfying to her. The attendant came over to them then to check that their seatbelts were firmly in place, and she tried not to shift uncomfortably as the creepy guy's fingers brushed against the sliver of skin exposed by her hip. She could feel the stranger's eyes on the side of her face at the interaction, but Madison just stared straight ahead, showing no signs of vulnerability at it. Before she could open her mouth to talk to the girl next to her, they were starting their descent up and she felt like her heart was bottoming out.
