One shot based off of following prompt:
"You fell asleep on my shoulder on the flight but it's okay because you smelled nice and I was cold anyway."
It was Zoe Benson's first time riding an airplane and she couldn't deny the nervousness she felt as she made her way up the aisle, attempting to locate her seat amongst the chaos. She had vowed to herself that she would never find herself on one of the metal deathtraps no matter how long she lived, but the news of her great aunt Patricia passing is the reasoning why she found herself on one now, completely irritated by the lack of success she had finding her assigned place to sit. She saw it up ahead and pushed past a middle aged couple, who were bickering about who was going to sit in what seat despite being given seating numbers prior to their flight. When she got to her seat, she saw that she unsurprisingly wasn't sharing the area with only herself, but rather a petite blonde who had a notebook open on her skirt clad knees and black framed glasses that kept sliding down the bridge of her slightly freckled nose whenever she would look down at the small notebook.
"Sorry to disturb you but uh I'm window seat so..." She felt rude intruding on her, but she was tired and wanted to sit down and if that meant disrupting someone's peace for even a mere moment, then she was going to do so. The girl looked up at her, and her face blushed red as she mumbled a quick apology and stood up, allowing her to scoot past her and to finally plop into the plush seat that she had been longing for since she first arrived at the airport. The blonde sat back in her seat and closed the notebook, placing it carefully into the oversized tote bag that was occupying the empty seat next to her. She pushed the glasses back up onto her nose and crossed her legs, turning so that her upper body faced Zoe, who felt her stomach sinking more and more the longer the plane remained still.
"I can sense this is your first time on a plane so let me tell you what I did when I had my first panic attack on a plane. I closed my eyes and gripped the armrest next to me, imagining that I was in my happy place to calm myself down and after a few minutes, I was fine. You totally don't have to take my advice if you don't want, I just thought it would be nice to give you some help." She tucked a piece of hair that had fallen from her braid behind her ear and offered her a small smile. At that very moment, the pilot of the plane came on and informed the passengers that they would be taking off now, and to prepare themselves by buckling into their seatbelts and getting as comfortable as a cramped seating area would allow them. She felt her heartbeat begin to skyrocket, but she took the girl's advice next to her, and soon enough, the flight began. She squeezed her eyes as tightly as she possibly could, and she envisioned herself in her childhood living room, the last place she had ever truly felt happy. She felt a tap on her arm and she slowly opened her eyes, looking next to her at the smiling blonde next to her.
"You did it, you overcame your panic attack!" She sounded excited for her and she felt her heart do a backflip at the way she was smiling at her, dimples slightly appearing in her cheeks.
"Yeah, i did didn't I?" She breathed a sigh of relief and leaned her head against the back of the seat, peering out the window. The clouds were beautiful from their position in the sky, but nothing could top the beauty that the stranger next to her had, nothing at all.
6 hours into the flight, and she was impatient. She tossed and turned until she gave up the possibility of sleep and turned to make more conversation with the beautiful stranger next to her, but was disappointed to see she had curled up in her seat and was now fast asleep. She bit her lip as she pulled out her phone, opening up her text messages. She saw that her boyfriend James had messaged her, but she ignored it as she opened the conversation with her dad, who asked her how her flight was going. She quickly typed a response and exited the messages, going to her main messaging screen again. Her thumb lingered over his name and with hesitancy, she opened the message.
