The Elevator
"Get ready, darling. It's your turn to die!"
Sinister laughs shake the empty elevator
Lights flicker, floor quakes underfoot
My heart drops down without indicator
Freely falling thirteen stories deep
Unsuspecting of the perpetrator
"Who are you?" I scream my lungs out.
She chortles. "I am your life's narrator
Third person decides if you live or die
Not tomorrow, now is even greater
Kill your darlings, they've sealed your fate
To your sadistic author you must cater
Goodbye, darling. Never see you later."
