An invitation,
For visiting god's own country,
Warm welcome awaits.
Disaster strikes,
Heaviest rainfall of century,
God's own country drowned.
Helping hands arrive,
Refuse reward for rescuing,
Humanity prevails.
Aftermath is harsh,
Life, houses, lost ; slush, debris
Colourless Onam.
Rebuilding started,
Strong; so strong is human spirit,
Indomitable.
A letter arrives,
Worry not, things are back to normal,
Visit Kerala.
After twelve long years,
Neelakurinji is blooming,
Munnar, beautiful.
Doors of my house open,
Waiting eagerly for you all,
Warm welcome awaits.
