Subway Stories
(i)
shoulder to shoulder
I know how a sardine feels
please, roll back the top
blank faces, watch, staring
train is late again, pissed off
she's going to jump
lady on the bench
I don't think she's asleep, punks
just stole her handbag
the train is on time
my daughter's birthday today
what the hell? We've stopped
there she is again
oh my God, she smiled at me
my face is burning
(ii)
this is just not right
I still love my wife, but she
excites me so much
the minute I walk
in the door, I will ask her
a beautiful ring
make fun at me, bitch
wait 'till this pic of you shows
on Facebook, die bitch
don't sit next to me
dude, you fucking stink, my God
take a shower dude
that creep scares me, shit
he's got a gun, he's coming
my way, OH MY GOD
(iii)
a single shot heard
memories flash, darkness grows
silence, emptiness
a single light beam
corridor glowing, blinding
follow the white light
a voice is heard, please
don't leave me, I need you, I
love you, please come back
eternity looms
the pull is strong, I carry
on, my destiny
(iv)
a single light beam
sparkles in your eye, its here
with you, I belong
a single shot heard
memories flash, darkness gone
I'm not ready yet
