Ooh.. and please welcome another character for this story! (Rome bows down in the background)

It's in Rome's POV y'all~

****

In the dim light of the narrow corridor, he tried to run as fast and as quietly as possible. He covers his mouth to masked the panting and gasps out from it in fear of discovering. Years gone by, the chilling feeling still ingrained in his bone, making him afraid to do anything.

Just a little more.. that door.. just a little more!

he breathed a little sigh of relief once he stops in front of a large double-leafed arched door. Inside this heavy steel door was his sanctuary. He knocked with urgency, praying that the owner of the room would open the door quickly.

He can feel it, how that person is approaching with a fast speed. His heart thumping like crazy and feels like it would jump out from his body once the door in front of him opened. He immediately slip inside and promptly slumped to the floor as the door closed.

"Again?" a sassy voice asked. He who can only panted in the meantime nodded silently. There's an exhale of a sigh beside him, and the figure decided to let him be by sauntering to the table in the corner of the room. It was stacked with many books, the ones which is heavy, thin, thick, old and new, everything was there.

Just for the prisoner to pass the time.

"Tea, Rome?" the question jolted him in surprise. He must have fallen asleep. How embarrassing, fallen asleep right in front of the door. So manner less..

"How long have I been out?" Rome timidly asked. He approached the round table in the other corner, placed right in front of the balcony. The glass door always sealed closed, in fear the owner of the room escaping. He sits straight while the person across him pouring the still steaming tea calmly to the fine cup.

"Not long, I suppose. Just the duration while I boil this tea for us." The person casually replied. So, by estimation, Rome was out for about three minutes. It's okay, then.

He accepted the tea and bringing it close to his chest, blowing the steam carefully. A glance upward shows him how the person in front of him also doing the same, but the refinery and the grace the person has while doing so shows him how different they are. The crimson blood hair this person possess was just one of the thing that separates them. His cinnamon one pales in comparison, cropped short for practical use. But this person's hair, it falls to the person's chest, shines and flowing beautifully. Rome thinks it suits this beautiful person very much.

They sipped their tea in silence. It was the break Rome longed for. It was so hard to get away from..

Shit. He can hear the footsteps!

"My L-" a hand stopped him before saying anything more. As becoming their ritual, they swiftly tidied up the evidence of Rome's presence here in the room and then Rome hide in his hiding spot just when someone knocked on the door.

"Come in."

A figure in military uniform swiftly come inside. The maroon hair the figure has was unmistakable. Neither was his cold face, so contrasting with his power, the fire.

"Fancy to meet you here, Kai." The owner of the room greets airily.

"Quit your bullshit, Heechul. I know you're prone to hide that little minx." Commander Kai said menacingly.

"I don't know whatever you mean." Heechul retorted. He lazily inspected his nails. Kai visibly fumed and clenching his teeth.

"Heechul." Kai gritted. But Heechul only shrugged, uncaring of the unspoken threat.

"As I was saying, Commander. I don't know what you're talking about. now if you excuse me, I had to go prepare myself to be presentable for supper with our King." He made a shoo-ing motion.

"Fine. I won't let this go easily." Kai spoke this sentence as he went out and slamming the door shut. After making sure that Kai went far away from Heechul's room, Rome carefully climb out from his hiding spot. The view that greets him, as always was a melancholy scenery, in which Lord Heechul stares at the distance with a sad look on his face.

"My Lord." Rome softly called the beautiful person's attention.

"Ah. Rome. Maybe you should hide here for a little while. The wrath of Kai surely won't abate anytime soon." Even though Lord Heechul tried to paste a smile on his face, Rome can't erase the feeling he always feel whenever he looks at the older man; a sense that they are sharing the same fate. Lord Heechul was trapped inside this castle without his consent, unable to roam free. Just like a bird in a cage, he was there to entertain the King.

And Rome..

"I regret knowing you too late, my little fox." Lord Heechul softly said, approaching him. His fingers tucking Rome's hair to the back. A bitter smile spread unbidden on Rome's face.

"Likewise, my Lord." Rome bowed, ignoring the phantom ache from the back of his neck, where his slave mark was placed.

A hard slap landed on Rome's cheek, sending him flying to the nearest wall with a loud thump. "That's the beginning of your punishment." Lord Kai booming voice resounded in this cramped room. Rome tried so hard to stop his trembling body and willed it to stand straight. Lord Kai would punish him more severely if he found out he showed some weakness.

"Yes, sir." Rome hardened his voice to hide how hoarse his voice truly are.

"Go to lieutenant Shin for your punishment later."

"Yes, sir!"

"Now.." a manic smile grace Lord Kai as he advanced toward him. "I expected you've already read the notice we sent you." It was more Lord Kai telling him, and of course, the reason Rome trembled in fear and trying to get away from him was because of that notice. Being a slave in this country was terrible. It was only end in death. Just like what he knew that it would be his fate after this.

"Do you understand what your mission is?"

"Yes, sir." Rome said convincingly. His eyes stare ahead, a determined gaze. "Kill Neeramphorn of Natee Phuri."
