Kongphob's POV

****

Kongphob was in a disturbed deep sleep. His body felt like a lead. Too rigid to move. Eyes sealed tight, unable to open. His heart in turmoil.

He need to wake up.

His imprint is waiting for him.

After a long time, finally his fingers twitched, then his arms moved. Eyes fluttered open, with a force he resurfaced from the pool. Hands flimsily tightened to the edge of it, trying hard to stay afloat. Body trembling, he pushed his half body out of the water.

"Wad.." he panted. He laid limply on the side of the pool. It was so hard to even brought his body out of water. Already out of breath, he repeatedly calling for his trusted aide.

The only door of the room finally ajar slightly. Oh so slowly the door open to reveal two maidens with averted gaze. Behind them, High Priest Maprang showed herself in a less than perfect uniform, like she was forced to suddenly wear it. Wad panting slightly as he stood behind her, with a worried look that felt foreign on his face. The man immediately helped him to stand up and wrapped his body with a thick towel.

"It is unwise to be out of the pool." Maprang said with a disapproving eyes. Kongphob shook his head.

"I need to leave." He said, although his body swayed and almost lost his balance just to stand still. He forced his feet to step forward.

"I suggest you to stay in this room for a longer period of time." again, Maprang said in her condescending voice. It irked Kongphob how she treated him in this kind of time.

Again. He stepped forward.

Maprang gave his aide a look, something he didn't miss. He glance at Wad who nodded. "My lord, if you would patiently wait, I have news regarding Ekala."

Kongphob's eyes narrowed. "Speak."

Wad hesitated before opening his mouth again. "The enemy is gone."

His heart beating fast. Kongphob's mind whirled in as he processed the information. He throw a look at the priest in front of him. "What is the meaning of this?!"

He had a gut feeling it had to do with the temple. Of what, Kongphob didn't know yet.

Maprang only shook her head. A look of pity crossed her eyes, so fleeting Kongphob wasn't sure he saw it. "It is best for you to rest, Lord Kongphob."

The way she speak, Kongphob knew something had happened. Still, he shook his head once again. "I have to see Arthit."

Time must have passed so many days. He need to see with his own eyes that his imprint is alright.

Maprang let out a sigh, admitting defeat. She gave a maiden a look. "Please give the Lord his clothes."

----

Bright placed a car in the embassy in case Konghob regain his consciousness. It came in handy in this situation. Wad drive quietly as the car passed through deserted streets.

It was already passed midnight, Kongphob realized after staring at the dark sky and glanced at the clock at the dashboard. No wonder Maprang looked like she was out of bed. She must be alarmed in the middle of her sleep. Now he wondered if Arthit already sleeping. With his power depleting until almost none of it left in his body, he can't check it with his power. Speaking of sleeping..

"How long was I asleep?"

Wad 's eyes staring ahead as he answered. "Just passed two weeks."

Two weeks. With that period of time for intense healing, his body barely hold any power. What he need was years of healing, which was a luxury for now. His mind halted, unable to process much information with a newly healing body. Kongphob rest his head on the headrest, closing his eyes.

"The report." He said.

"A week ago, a messenger came bearing news of the unusual activity of the enemy." Wad started, hands gripped tightly on the steering wheel. Although his eyes focused staring ahead, his mind divided as he arranged the information he got for the past week. "There was a sudden increased of another city's ships that docked in the middle of our sea; a total of two medium-sized ships come nearing and stopped in the middle of their formation. There was also a movement and rumor going around in enemy's camp at Manila Border. It was said another prophecy came and all factions need to regroup."

Kongphob frowned as he listened to Wad's voice. He finally got news about the prophecy. Although, was it really related to how Maprang seemed to be closed off and tightened the security around embassy? Still, there was also the mystery of what Fire Clan had to do with it, and the relation of their attack on him.

"The enemy started packing their things five days ago in groups and completely retreating just two days ago. There was no news since then." Wad finished his report.

"They really went back to their city?" Kongphob opened his eyes and glanced at him. Wad nodded wordlessly. Kongphob's lips thinned. "What's the situation in Ekala?"

"Lady Elanora has ordered the troops to regroup, but increasing the patrols and maintaining shifts to guard the fortress." Wad replied succinctly.

"Has the Priestesses in Ekala's temple open their mouth?"

For once, Wad shook his head. Kongphob's eyes narrowed. So, spreading rumor that a new prophecy has come but still sealed their lips about the content. For them to do so, it might be related to how it's already come true and not a hogwash that won't be realized until the next generation.

"Any news about my attack?" Kongphob saw how Wad's face hardened.

"I got my hand on a symbol. It was already confirmed came from Second Military Troop under the order of Lord Kai of Tae Kingdom."

Fuck.

Kongphob closed his eyes again. He forced his mind to think.

"My Lord." Wad's call made him tilt his head, showed that he was listening. "Maprang actually let it slip about the prophecy to me."

The eyes immediately opened. He zeroed his gaze toward Wad. "Continue."

"She told me to be prepared of a bigger war that would come." Hearing that, Kongphob sucked his breath. So just like he thought. The prophecy didn't give much time for them to prepare.

"But the temple still won't open their mouth?" the head shaking from Wad affirmed it. Kongphob let his head thumped to the headrest, closing his eyes as a headache was coming. There was no time to rest. A bigger war that made Fire Clan involved themselves to a war that happened in another dimension.. how big the scale would be? How much more that they need to sacrifice?

As he opened his eyes, the building that he was familiar with in this past months become visible. His heart longed for his imprint.

Just for tonight. Let him rest from the problem that keep on brewing..
