A/N : This story has been nagging me for quite some time now. It's about the first time Wad met Kong and how they become The Lord and Messenger. So, please enjoy~

****

"Wad. You have to decide soon." His advisor said tiredly at him. Wad wants to roll his eyes, but he still respects the elder, so he kept his mouth shut. He also feels tired for the constant barrage of the same question. Asking him, when he will pledge himself to and to whom. Everyone is the same. They only see him as a tool, just because he is one of the strongest here.

He nodded his head in the strategic place as his advisor drone on and on about the dignity of a messenger, something he already know about in his heart. In the end, his advisor sighs, giving up for him to listen.

"You're already 30 years old, my boy. Almost 31. It's time for you to do your duty."

"I understand, Elder Kashim. I will think about it seriously." He nodded and answer dutifully. His advisor looks at him with gentle eyes, a smile knowing what his heart truly desires.

"You could also pledge yourself to your brother." He suggested, and it makes Wad gritted his teeth. He clenched his hands and balled it into fists, feeling irritated already.

Ever since he heard the news that his parents decide to divorce because his mother found her imprint, Wad already has a mixed feeling. His heart almost can't accept it, he wants to curse the fate because she separates his parents. They were in love and had him. And then when he was three, the shrine decided to took him in because his affinity. His father only had his mother, but now..

The news about her mother got pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy fell on deaf ears. He wasn't ready yet to meet him.

"I will consider it, Elder." He opted to say, hiding what he felt this time. He then gave a slight bow, wanting to get excused.

"Don't forget that you also have a class to teach our newest members, my dear." Elder Kashim bade him farewell.

He wants to shirk his responsibility, but his logical mind refused to do so. It has been ingrained into him, to never forgot about his duty. Growing up here since early age, in the Holy city at Itzel, makes the rules carved into his soul. And that's why the elders were so confused because he avoids doing his most important duty.

Wad sighs as he looks up into the sky in the deserted corridor. Today, it was such a beautiful blue color with the white clouds swimming around the Holy Sun. The weather fell under water element this month. It has been for a few months, more than usual. sometimes in the afternoon till the sunrise it would turn slowly to midnight blue, with little hues of violet and silver. Wad thinks it was something of omen for him.

He shook his head to clear his mind, deciding what he has to do right now. Just when he wants to take a step, he heard someone spoken in the next corridor, not far from him.

"Neeramphorn, please rest assured that you will find the most eligible messenger here. He will aid you with your tasks." Elder Vough said to a rather young man, that Wad believe only a few years younger than him.

"I'm sure I will, Elder. Thank you." The young man said with a slight smile.

..Neeramphorn? the title of the strongest one in Natee Phuri faction? How come such a young man like him able to get the title so early?

"Wad. It's good you're still here." Elder Kashim almost surprise him when he suddenly appear behind him.

"Elder Kashim?"

"Could you get me something from the Archive, first?" his advisor asked. Wad numbly nodded. Elder Kashim gaze at him intently as he gave him his list it makes Wad lowers his head in embarrassment.

"That's. The new Neeramphorn has come to find his messenger." Wad tells him.

"Ah." The older man nodded in understanding. "And you're wondering how someone so young already hold the title?"

"Yes, Elder."

Elder Kashim gave him a smile before explaining. "The previous Neermphorn died from old age. Beside, it's already his fate since he was born, to hold this title. He is a powerful man with water and ice as his element."

Wad listens to the explanation as his gaze follows the figures until it disappears to the next room. If he already knows that it was his fate to hold the title, would it make him have a big head about it? Wad wonders.

----

As soon as he enters the pub, his eyes zeroed to the unusual midnight blue hair that resembled the current sky. It was the Neeramphorn. Wad ponders for a little bit before approaching the table where the young man sat alone.

"Mind if I sit here?" he asked once he is in front of the man. The midnight blue head glance up, showing a sharp gaze and a pair of clear eyes to him.

"Please." The man said simply, gesturing him to take a seat.

"Thank you, Neeramphorn." The grimace the man gave was not missed by Wad as he took a seat. He orders his usual and then turn to face the man.

"Forgive me if I cross the boundary, Neeramphorn. I only saw you in the shrine." He explained. The young man only 'ah'-ed, still with a displeasure evident on his face.

"I just don't like it when people call me with the title." The man shrugged. "Just call me Kongphob, please."

Wad observed him a little more, and decided to pushed again. "Still not used with it?"

"Goddess, No." Kongphob rolled his eyes, exasperated. "I'm tired listening about how great the title is. Everyone only ever see me for the title. They forgot that before that, and even now, I am still Kongphob." Here, his eyes turned a bit misty. "A son who is very afraid that his father would soon perished while he is busy doing his duty."

Ah.

This man is like him.

"..yeah?" Wad subtly urged the man to continue. Kongphob took a deep sigh before leaning his back to the chair.

"I don't even know your name and here I am, pouring my heart out. I feel like this is somewhat unfair." He comments. Wad gave him a smirk for it.

"I'm Wad. You can call me a friend, if you like." He tells the man. His order come right then, and Kongphob gestures him to eat.

"Well, my dear new friend. If you have a lot of time to listen of the woes that I have, then by all means, finished your dinner quickly." Kongphob gave a smirk right back at him.

The sky above really gives him omen, is what Wad thought after that night.

****

He can hear the door open and closing as he finished chatting with Elder Kashim. Wad straightened his back and smooth his robe. It would be no good if he gave his first impression any less than what he is.

"Right this way, Neeramphorn." He heard Elder Vough said, guiding the young man he got acquientance just a few nights ago.

Kongphob eyes widened once his eyes locked to his. Wad smirked at him, and then gave him the formal bow.

"Greeting, my soon-to-be Lord. I am called Wad. And I pledge myself, my soul, and my loyalty to you."

----

..he knew he will get a retribution from his lord because he hid the most important thing to him. that's what Wad thought as his Lord glowers at him.

"I believe I have something equally surprising to you, as your first task, my Messenger." Kongphob told him. Wad has a bad premonition now.

And it turns out that it's not true, after all, as Kongphob guide him to meet his mother. She slowly put his baby brother in his arms, and when his eyes met the inquiring gaze from his baby brother, a smile blooms on his face.

Right. His life is starting now.
