A/N : Most of the song that I played as I write this chapter were inside a playlist I created to my hubby after our wedding. XD The hard part finally finished!
Kongphob's POV
****
"..My lord?" Wad just finished pulling the break as he parked in one of the parking space in front of the building. Kongphob was staring blankly toward the entrance, too immersed inside his head.
"Did he ask for me?" he finally opened his mouth.
"Everyday."
A faint smile emerged. "Someone explained?"
"Bright and Prem accompanied him these days. No unnecessary things were told." Wad replied.
Kongphob nodded, his smile widened. "Good. He had his friends with him." Not long after, the smile vanished completely. "Regarding my imprint.."
Wad was quick to answer. "The honor belongs to you, my Lord. No one said anything about it. He was told that he got protection because of his relationship with you."
Kongphob closed his eyes, toughened himself to go. "No need to accompany me. Just go back to the embassy."
"Understood."
Hearing the obedience of his trusted aide, Kongphob let out a sigh and finally got out from the car. Slow but sure, he stepped forward.
Reaching to the door that he was getting familiar with, his feet stopped walking. He hesitated. Something that was rare to him. There was dozens scenario running in his mind about how he would tell his imprint, about who he really is, and what their relationship means. Nothing can prepare him for the real thing. He feared to feel rejection from Arthit, to have those eyes looking at him with confusion and fear, or the scariest thing, hatred.
His hand reached for the door, wavering in midair as he hesitated to knock on it. His fingers trembling, he realized, as the tips of them met the smooth surface of the door. Kongphob gritted his teeth. Now or never, there's no going back.
A knock. Then two.
He thought he should knock for a few more times, but suddenly there's a sound of movement inside of the room and the door flung open. Arthit looked at him with disbelief.
"Kong..?"
Kongphob tried to give him even a flimsy smile, but Arthit immediately dragged him inside. His vision turned black as he was shoved to the man's chest, being hug so tight until he struggled to breathe. The tension was gone from his body. He leaned heavily on the fragile body of his imprint. Finally, he was able to smile for real.
A chuckle. And another. His shoulders shook as the laughter escaped from his mouth. Even Arthit looked at him quizzically. He could only shake his head, as the relief flood inside his heart and made him feel like he was floating.
"Kong?" and now he did it, Arthit shot him with a concern look, worrying that his mind might not really there.
"Sorry sorry. I was just, I'm so glad to finally see you again." He reasoned. Arthit huffed at him.
"That should be my line. I couldn't even come to see you. And there's been no news. I almost got mad."
Kongphob gave him a toothy smile. "I would like to listen to you. But, can't we go sit down? my feet almost gave away."
"What?!" Arthit immediately helped him walk to his bed.
"I literally crawled out of the pool not even an hour ago." Kongphob confessed, shamelessly wanting to earn a brownie point so Arthit would take pity of him.
"But, you're okay now?"
"For the most part." He chose to tell the truth. Gone was the time for him to give a half-lie. "My wounds already healed. But my power- ah, Bright, what did he say to you?"
Arthit raised one of his eyebrow, feeling that he deliberately avoided and even changed the topic. Grudgingly he told his tale. "Whatever I want to know, basically." He shrugged, as if trying to be nonchalant. "About your dimensions, the people there, your powers, and even food."
"Is that so?" Kongphob's question was answered with a firm nod from Arthit. In the dim light of bedside lamp, he can see his earnest face. He gulped once before asking another question. "What do you think?"
Arthit blinked, his lips parted slightly but no words were coming. He seemed gathering his thought before voicing his opinion. Kongphob appreciated that.
"At first, I wasn't able to believe it." Arthit started, his eyes looked sideway as he recalled his memory. "All of it seems like something out of manga (comic), Your reality was different from mine." Here, he looked down, fiddling with the blanket underneath. "They showed me their power, you know. And even made a comparison of how their power work and the mightiness of it. Yours included of course. It was surreal. It felt abnormal to me."
Kongphob maintained his silence, waiting for Arthit to finished speaking. The other man then let out a chuckle, shrugging. "But at the end of the day, they're my friends. We're still laughing together, playing together, and study together. After I got back to this dorm, the things that Prem brought first were food and the compilation of materials from the classes I missed. We study like crazy for a few days. These weeks all we do are just attending classes, stuffing our mouths with food, and play video games. Nothing changes."
"Then, what about me?" Kongphob can't help but blurted the only thing that matter to him right now. Arthit's gaze landed straightly at him. He blinked innocently.
"What about you?" he asked.
"What do you think about me?"
The suspense was killing him. He didn't know if Arthit deliberately avoided answering his question promptly, or if he really thought the worse of him. In the end, though, the answer was enough to make Kongphob feel helpless.
"You're my boyfriend, aren't you?" Arthit said, face closer than a second ago. "I think that's the most important thing."
Kongphob hold himself in check, controlling his body to not sprang onto the man in front of him. his imprint. His most important thing. The only creation that could make him ignore any other existence in this universe.
"Can I kiss you?"
Arthit blinked, his body recoiled immediately. Even in the almost dark room Kongphob can see how his face reddened, down to the collar. He gulped. He chose to execute a cheat, showing a puppy-eyed look that even Amaya was having a hard time refusing. "Or at least a hug. Can't I hug you?"
A jerk of his head, Arthit nodded. Immediately Kongphob sidled closer, wrapped his arms around Arthit's waist and placed his head on Arthit's beating heart. It was warm.
No unnecessary words were spoken. They fell asleep holding each other.
It was the most important thing tonight.
