A/N : *gasp* It's Prem's POV! I had fun figuring Prem's character here.^^
****
It still fresh in his mind, on the last day of him in Kantarot, his father brought him to the clearing at the bottom of the hill near their home. On the grass land, they just staring at the faraway hills spreading in front of them. Prem didn't dare to interrupt whatever his father had in mind. He only silently stood behind the much older man, waiting for whatever wisdom his father will share with him.
"Prem," his father finally began.
"Yes, father." He said, body slightly bowing with respect. The robe on his father billowing as the wind caress the grass beneath them.
"Tomorrow you'll be gone." Here, his father pause, stroking his now longer beard. He started to grow them as soon as his sister, Maria, was born. "It is not what I would like you to do now. Nonetheless, the opportunity present itself to you."
"Yes, father." Prem thought he understood where his father wanted to talk.
"I would send you myself a few more years. But alas, our Lord is too fond of the young Heir of Anvil City." His father chuckled, and Prem laughed along with him. It was clear with everyone, whenever Bright come, there would be laughter and joyous occasion.
"There's no one who can rival his wit." Prem can't help but comment.
"True, true." His father agreed with him. "It was needed in his court, I think. And when he said he wanted you to study with him on earth, nobody opposed."
"He probably just said there's no such rules dictating I had to study the warfare." Prem half-murmured. Only then, his father turned to face him. His face more serious now.
"That is what I actually want you to learn." Prem hide his sigh as his father told him this. "The earthian has ways about the subject. More than us, as their history of war is far richer than we have. You're already a captain of your own platoon. A feat for your age. Soon, you'll reach the same rank as me."
"I am not worthy to stand side by side with you." Prem immediately rebutted, body bowing lower than before. "Besides, I could study the subject for my master."
His father laughed and shook his head. "No matter. It is already like this. I just want you to find whatever you learn to be useful."
"I understand, father. I won't disappoint you." Prem avowed, his left hand touching his right chest as he gave his father the formal bow.
And now, more than two years has passed. Right at the moment, Prem is busy sitting in front of his desk, working how to use the formula at hand inside the safety of his room.
"Arrgh!!" Prem yells out his frustration, scratching his head and messing his hair. With a loud thud, he let his head falls to the surface of his desk, sighing all the while. He screwed his eyes shut for a moment before glancing at the clock on the desk, showing that it's barely 4 am.
Prem has this habit, where he would do his best to go to bed early, and raise early. The training he got back from the army still ingrained in his mind. If he had exams just like this week, he'll try to wake earlier than usual. He'll do some revision before doing his morning routine. But alas, it's already at this hour and he still couldn't make out all the formula for the exam. He doesn't have any confidence that he would pass this semester peacefully. He is a knight, for Gaia's sake, not an engineer.
He throws his body to lean on his chair, it's slightly creaking at his sudden movement. His eyes wander to stare at the ceiling, thinking about what could be done for this subject's application in his land.
Itzel is different from earth, after all. A large scale of electricity can't be made there, as it clashed with magic field in the air. The engineering tried their best to assimilating the technology from earth to Itzel, but it's still work in progress, even after all these years. Prem would like to think that he could do something for the army. Something like combining the machinery and advancing the weapon they had. Mass production is still a problem, even though they are in Ila dimension. The raw material is scarce, too different from earth which is abundant.
Prem rubbed his eyes and slaps his own cheeks, gathering his spirit once again. No matter what, he had to pass this stupid exam now. That kind of thinking can wait.
..but he guess he'll drag Arthit to play some basketball to destress himself afterward.
----
"-thit. Arthit. Arthit!" Prem tried to call his friend who is in dazed. He rolls his eyes as he dribbled lazily in the center of the field. His earthian friend is too absent-minded these days. More so today, after they part ways before the rain yesterday.
"Seriously, Ai' Arthit! You promised me to play!" finally his words come through. Arthit snapped out of his daze with a stupid look and a sheepish smile.
"Uh.. sorry about that." His friend said. "I just.. do you know that freshman? The girl with a wavy hair." He pointed the high priestess who is walking with Bright's brother, Wad, in the corridor visible from the basketball field.
"Huh.. why?" Prem can't help but asked. He stops his dribble and put the ball on his hips. "If you want to ask girls' name, you should ask Bright."
"Nothing. I just.. I saw her near my dorm yesterday." Arthit gave him excuse. Prem raised one of his eyebrows. He wants to ask about it further, but decide to can it. He knows most probably the high priestess wanted to meet with Lord Kongphob, who lives not far from Arthit.
"I think her name is Maprang." He tells his friend. "I saw her a few times with your dearest freshman." Prem tried to joke, but it seems Arthit take it too seriously. Because his face looks so cloudy it baffled him.
"Arthit?" his friend didn't reply his calling. Too busy staring with cloudy eyes to the high priestess who is now too far away from them.
Prem thinks, that a problem is brewing.

A/N : more like, more than a problem is brewing.*snickers*
