later that night, against my will, i was hauled off to bryce's party with jessica and justin.
"would you stop pouting in the back seat?" justin laughed.
"bite me," i growled.
"why are you such a downer today?" jess asked while turning in her seat.
"because i just got back from greece and i'd like a break and some sleep." i fought.
"little rich girl problems," justin fake pouted.
"foley i will rip your balls off with no hesitation."
"chill out nicky," jess smiled. "this is a chance to scope out the new guys."
"i don't want a guy." i said.
"do you want a girl?" justin asked, looking at me through the rear view mirror.
"no," i shook my head in frustration.
"i want my bed."
"well we're here, so tough luck." justin said as he pulled the car on to the grass.
we all climbed out and they hurried off, leaving me alone.
"every time," i shook my head.
i walked towards the large house, hearing the music from the back yard at full volume. i walked through the front door and saw people dancing and making out against walls. i pushed my way to the kitchen which i'd learned was always the safe place at bryce's parties. as soon as i walked through, my eyes landed on tyler downs.
"hey!" he said.
"hey," i smiled and slid on to a stool.
tyler didn't have many friends, i didn't know him all that well but he always kept a camera around his neck. i also knew that none of the popular kids, such as bryce, liked him. i'd always been nice to him because i don't like to judge before i know.
"how was greece?" he asked.
"it was nice, how was your summer?"
"the usual," he smiled, "good ol' crestmont."
i let out a small laugh.
"can i get you a drink?"
"is it spiked?" i asked.
"nope, unopened cans of soda in the fridge."
"yeah, pass me one." i said.
he pulled a coke can out and pushed it towards me. i popped it open and took a sip.
"so, this doesn't seem like your kind of thing. what are you doing here?" i asked.
"i don't really know, i felt compelled."
"i wish that's why i was here." i rolled my eyes. "jess and justin dragged me here against my will."
"i'm..." he started but was cut off by a group of boys from the baseball team stumbling in. my eyes watched as they all cheered and hollered. they passed through in a matter of a minute to the rest of the house.
i let out a laugh, "classic liberty boys."
tyler smiled as i watched monty walk in, an unfamiliar boy next to him.
"look who it is," monty laughed, "nicolette."
his eyes scanned over my body. i rolled my eyes.
"hi monty."
"where's your brother?"
"sleeping, like i wish i was."
"i can take you upstairs and we can do more than sleep."
