the next monday alex came and picked me up and brought me to school.
"what did you tell elliot?"
"i didn't tell him anything." i replied.
"you have to tell him something, you live with him and he's only going to keep asking."
"he'll get bored eventually." i shrugged.
"just tell him about bryce." he said as we got out of his car.
"no thanks," i laughed. i pushed the door shut and looked at him. "i'll see you later."
i pulled my bag over my shoulder and started towards the school doors. i pulled them over and walked down the hall, slowing down as i noticed everyone watching me.
"can i help you guys?" i asked.
they all began to whisper as i rolled my eyes. i headed straight to my locker, turning the knob in the sequence of my combination. i pulled out what i needed and pushed it shut, seeing hannah and jess behind it. i jumped.
"what the hell guys?" i scolded.
"so you just ignored us all weekend?" jess asked.
"what the hell happened at scott's party?"
"i don't know," i shrugged angrily, "maybe if you'd showed up you'd know. i don't want to talk to you guys."
"nicolette!" jess yelled as i walked away.
i turned a corner and ran straight into my brother and his new girl friend, sherri i think was her name.
"nicolette," he said, "you left your room?"
"can't miss school E," i told him and tried to walked around.
he grabbed my wrist and spun me back around.
"i have to get to class," i said and pulled away from him.
i hurried down the hall to my economics class and dropped into my seat. i let out a sigh as i pulled out my homework. that's when i heard someone yell my name from the hall. i stood as justin and scott ran into the room.
"we have a big problem." scott exhaled.
"what?" i asked.
"we were just in the locker room and bryce is telling people lies." justin rushed.
"what is he saying."
"that he got a piece of you at my party." scott explained. "marcus and monty backed him up."
"wait," i said and looked at justin.
"how do you know what really happened?" i asked.
"alex told me."
"you didn't tell jess?"
"i thought you would."
"no, i didn't, i don't want her to know."
"that is not the problem right now!" scott said. "we have to shut this down."
"how?" i laughed. "bryce is the king of this school. he and his friends are the ones people are going to believe, not me."
"you have us on your side though."
"none of my friends saw it go down though." i shook my head. "no one can really be on my side."
"nicolette!" i heard my brother's angry voice.
"elliot!" alex yelled as they both entered the classroom.
