i sat in the empty room, staring ahead of me. there was one table, two chairs and a cop in the corner. i saw the door fly open and a cop walk in, i heard chains as he held the door open. i took a breath, watching tyler walk in. we made eye contact and he smiled.
"my second visitor." he sat.
i stared at him, digging my nails into the palm of my hands.
"what can i help you with today nicolette?"
"i'm alive you son of a bitch." i smiled and leaned back.
"yeah, i was informed by monty. speaking of which, does he even know you're here? because when i talked to him, he told me i'd never see you again."
"when did he come and see you?"
"oh, he came and saw me when i was down at the police station still." he said. "they took you off to the hospital for surgery and he followed me. he tried to attack me but bryce and justin stopped him. it was pretty crazy."
"you've been planning this for a while, why didn't you do it when i was alone or something."
"i wanted to see monty's face when i did it and all of your friends."
"why me tyler?"
"you're a stupid bitch who deserved it."
"but who's the stupid bitch in prison?" i smirked. "because it's not me and guess what tyler, i'm thriving. all of my friends love me and check on me everyday. i get to hug my dad everyday after school. i get to see my brother. and montgomery gets to kiss me whenever he feels like it."
i watched his facial expression shift.
"and tyler," i stood. i leaned down, over the table. "i'm going to go home and sleep with my lovely boyfriend. i'm going to go to stanford, i'm going to graduate from stanford. i'm going to marry the man of my dreams and i'm going to have his kids. i hope you have a fantastic time here though. and the next time i see you, it'll be at your funeral."
i stood as a tear ran down his face.
"bye hun," i waved and turned.
the cop directed me as i took a deep breath. a smiled spread across my face and began down the hall.
....
when i finally got home, my dad and elliot were in the backyard. they were talking and my dad was showing monty how to grill burgers. i laughed and placed my things down. i walked over to the sliding door and pulled it open.
"hey," i said and walked out.
"hey, that therapy session was long." my dad said.
"yeah, i uh, had a lot to spill." i said and grabbed monty's face. i pulled him into a passionate kiss. we pulled away and he laughed slightly.
"what was that for?"
"just cause," i told him.

nicolettejames: a letter to the man of my dream because you wrote me so many. montgomery aiden de la cruz, i've known you for so many year. up until last year we were only acquaintances. but in such a short amount of time you have become one of the most important people in my life (sorry elliot beats you out on that position). we've been through so much together and you've made me a better person. you've shown patience and love towards me, you've been so good to me even if i have dragged you through hell. when you asked me to be yours (those many, many times) i said yes. when you told me today that you loved me and promised to devote your life to me, i said yes. when you get down on one knee (and you better) and ask me to marry you, i'll said yes. when we get married, i'll say i do. because i love you beyond matters and will devote my life to loving you. love forever and always, your princess.
