i don't remember much of what had happened the rest of that night, but when i woke up i was in scott's bed with only an over sized shirt on. i pushed the covers off of me and stood up. i walked over to the door and pulled it open. i heard two voices talking softly.
"so explain again what the hell happened?" one asked as i slowly went down the stairs.
"i just entered the living room and i saw her booking it out of the kitchen, she looked like she was crying. i followed her upstairs to my room and she was sobbing. she said bryce tried to touch her." the other explained, who i figured was scott.
i entered the kitchen, seeing scott pushed solo cups into the trash. i saw a familiar brunette headed boy at the counter in a stool.
"alex," i said but my voice was weak and it came out hoarsely.
they both turned and looked at me.
"nicolette," he stood and hugged me.
"what are you doing here?" i asked.
"scott called me after the party dispersed and i've been here since." he said. "he told me about bryce."
"i don't want to talk about it and we don't tell my brother. i over reacted."
"what?"
"it was nothing, i was just spooked."
"nicky," he said.
"we do not tell elliot, got it?" i said and looked between the two.
"i don't think i can keep this from him." scott said.
"please," i begged. "don't tell him."
they both sighed and nodded.
"thank you," i said.
