What do you mean he's not here?" I gave Captain Sparrow a look of confusion and I'm sure desperation.
"He left this morning, went on a six month fishing expedition." He went back to the net he was fixing.
"Six months?" Annie shouted a little louder than necessary.
"Yep, it goes all the way up the coastline towards Canada, then they are out to sea for a while. It's been in the works for over a month, he didn't tell you about it yesterday?" The captain looked at us suspiciously.
"He did, I guess we just misunderstood that he was leaving today. I was hoping to get to spend some more time with him and talk with him on any new ideas he had on, traps." Troy whispered the last word and looked around like he didn't want anyone to hear him and to hopefully steer the captains attention away from the fact that I was on the verge of crying once again, Annie was right, love does make you emotional.
"Ah, I see." The captain rubbed his bear thoughtfully, considering how much he should tell Troy. He must have deemed him worth because he spilled the beans rather easily. "I don't know too much about them, Harrison is the man you want to speak to, sort of the mastermind behind all of it. He bought my company from me a few years ago, I was to keep running it like I always did and not ask questions about what they do when we are stopped. He paid me good enough that I had no problem looking the other way, and I have to admit it would be pretty cool to catch one of them things wouldn't it?"
"Yes, it would be pretty awesome." Troy nodded agreeing with him, pasting a fake smile on his face. "I was hoping to get a chance to talk to Henry about maybe getting Frank's operation up and going again on the west coast."
"Would ye like me to get a message to Harrison for ya? I'm sure he would love to sit down and discuss something
"I would like to speak to Henry first, you know since he knew Frank like I did, he was like family to us both. Harrison seems like a decent fellow though I just am careful who I trust right away in this business, which I'm sure you understand." He gave the Captain a small polite smile.
"Aye, I understand ye completely. Took me awhile to get used to Harrison but he's not a bad guy once you get to know him. But I'll let Waters know ye be looking for him whenever I hear from them." He gave us a toothy grin and went back to his nets he was mending.
We each gave him a small wave and walked back to the truck, none of us speaking until we were in the truck.
"How could he not say anything to you or us about leaving for six months? He never even mentioned it!" Annie said slamming her seatbelt into the buckle, I'm shocked she didn't break it.
"I don't know, I guess he didn't feel anything did he?" I said to no one really but myself.
"He did, but he's just as stubborn and bullheaded as you to admit it to anyone, including himself." Troy piped up and both Annie and I stared at him. Generally he stayed out of our girly talks, letting us talk things out on our own.
"Excuse me? Did you really just call me stubborn and bullheaded?" I asked him.
"You are! How long did it take you to admit to yourself that you liked him, wanted to be with him, and decide you deserve happiness too? Eight hours is the answer by the way." He raised his eyebrows in the rearview mirror at me. And as much as I didn't want to admit it, he was right. If I had just told him how I felt yesterday, I wouldn't be in the position that I am in right now.
"What do you want to do?" Annie asked gently.
"I guess we go home, what other choice do we have?" I shrugged sadly. We couldn't wait here in Maine for six months, we needed to get home. All of us had duties we had to attend too, Lily would be having her pup any time now, and I needed to find a mate.
