We spent a few more hours with Troy's parents, Henry would be going to his hotel after his meeting to lay low for a while incase Lockwood had him followed so we had time to kill. I was getting antsy so spending the afternoon hearing embarrassing stories about Troy in his childhood was the ideal distraction. Aunt Lou and Uncle Alf seemed to get along great with Troy's parents, it made me happy to see and I knew Annie was ecstatic. They had a rough start but I think with chicken nugget coming along and this looming threat of attacks both sets of parents have decided to put their differences aside and work together.
I rode home with Uncle Alf, Aunt Lou, and my mom since Troy and Annie were going straight home. I asked Uncle Alf if the meeting was successful, he said it was but he would go into more detail once Henry was back. I'm sure it was because Uncle Alf didn't want to repeat himself but I was going to tell myself it was because Henry would be the future Alpha and he wanted him to be included in on the meeting.
When we pulled into their driveway I saw an unfamiliar car parked there, it had to be Henry. I was out of the vehicle before Uncle Alf had even put it in park, racing into the house to find my mate. I barreled into the house looking all around for him, I heard his laugh coming from the kitchen. I rushed into the kitchen stopping at what I saw, he and Oma were standing at the counter mixing something together in a bowl, even stranger was that Oma was laughing. There were two things Oma did not do a lot of, that was laugh and let someone help her in the kitchen, if she was in the kitchen no one else touched anything. Seeing Henry not only making her laugh but also baking with her, it was enough to stop me in my tracks and stare. I heard my mom, Aunt Lou and Uncle Alf come up behind me.
"Renee what-" My mom questioned before also stopping in her tracks at the sight before her. I tore my gaze away from the kitchen to look at the shocked faces behind me, I was happy to know I wasn't the only one dumbfounded.
"Henry you are such a delight, we need someone like you around here." Oma laughed swatting Henry playfully with a towel.
"Oh Marta you make me blush." Henry put his head down shyly and I felt my draw drop, had he just called her Marta? No one, and I mean no one called her by her first name, not even Uncle Alf. I looked at Aunt Lou and Uncle Alf confused, they both had their jaws dropped and looked equally confused.
"Renee you're back!" Henry spoke up noticing the group of people at the doorway. He walked up to me and pulled me into a hug, kissing me on the cheek. "I've missed you." He whispered into my ear before pulling away and going back to Oma's side.
"Mom, what's uh, what's going on here?" Uncle Alf questioned hesitantly.
"Well what does it look like William?" Oma huffed looking annoyed that we had interrupted. "Muffins, we are baking muffins. Now get out so we can finish."
"We actually need to meet-" Uncle Alf started to say before being cut off by Oma pointing a wooden spoon at him.
"Your meeting can wait, this recipe is time sensitive, the batter can't just lay around till you're finished. I will send Henry in once we are done." Oma snapped as she turned back to the bowl in front of her. "Henry sweetie I think it needs a little bit more flour."
Aunt Lou covered her mouth quickly to keep the laugh that bubbled up from escaping as Uncle Alf just sat there stunned.
"I think that is my que to leave." My mom said also confused. "I'll see you later tonight sweetie."
"Bye mom." I said waving distractedly.
"Why are you still in my kitchen?" Oma whipped around on us making all of our eyes widened, I felt Uncle Alf and Aunt Lou's presence disappear from behind me. I knew I should leave too but I hadn't seen my mate in almost twenty four hours and the thought of leaving him again was-
