It was late evening by the time we arrived at the Lunar Phase, Alpha Stevens greeted us and immediately showed us to our rooms for the night which we were all grateful for. After we all had showered and eaten the sandwiches we had been provided all of us girls congregated in my room, kicking the boys out into Scarlet and Jeremy's room. I relayed to them what had happened earlier that day with James Jones.

"Poor guy, I can't even begin to imagine what he is going thru." Scarlet whispered.

"I couldn't imagine losing my pup." Lily said as she rubbed her swollen baby.

"Yeah, there was no way I would have been able to take him away from his pack, let alone drag him into being an Alpha." James wouldn't have made a good Alpha either but I wasn't going to say that out loud to the girls, I didn't want it to seem like I was bashing the guy. I think he is an awesome guy just a little broken.

"What's the details on the guy here?" Ellie asked as she reached for the open bag of Twizzlers that we were sharing.

"Let's see." Annie grabbed the file and started reading. "Larry Jenkins, thirty years old, he has an eleven year old daughter and he's a vet."

"Larry? His name is Larry?" Lily had a small disgusted look on her face.

"What's wrong with the name Larry?" Scarlet asked her.

"Nothing I supposed, it just sounds so..... old." She said dragging out the word old and making us all giggle.

"Maybe it's a family name." Annie said burrowing here eyebrows as she searched his file more.

"What about his mate?" I asked.

"Looks like a hunting accident. Not by actual hunters though, just humans out hunting for deer and they mistook her for one or freaked out when they saw an abnormally large wolf. Left her in the woods to die, by the time they got to her it was too late." She said sadly.

"I'm glad it wasn't actual werewolf hunters, they would have followed her back and attacked the whole pack." Scarlet said and we all murmured our agreements. A well trained hunting party could take out a huge number of a pack and if the pack is small enough, the entire pack. They would use weapons that's ammo was covered in metal, herbs, or anything else they could find that would kill us. It's why Uncle Alph has a research team that spends their whole lives searching and finding things that can harm us and finding cures if we were to ever be attacked with one of them.

"His daughter is eleven? They must have mated and marked each other right away." Ellie said as she did the math in her head.

"How long ago did his wife die?" Lily asked.

"Uh, five years ago." Annie said looking again at the file.

"That's quite a bit of time, maybe this one will be a little more, uh, open to the idea of meeting you and possibly becoming an Alpha." Scarlet offered and I silently agreed with her.

"And cute. He needs to be cute." Ellie added making us laugh. I'm not one who only looks at someone's looks but I'm not a liar and going to say that it doesn't matter a little if someone is attractive to me or not.

A knock on my door interrupted us, Eddie peeked his head in. "I know it's girl time or whatever but it's getting really late. Lily you should really get some sleep too."

"I'm fi-in-ne." She said as she yawned. I looked at the clock and noticed that it was really late, we all needed sleep including me. I didn't want to meet this guy with dark circles under my eyes.

"Eddie is right, I need my beauty sleep." I said as I stood up and stretched.

The girls all said their goodnights and left for their own bedrooms. I climbed into bed and listened to the silence, it was the first time I had been alone since we left, which hard to believe had only been this morning. Well yesterday morning considering we had stayed up talking into the wee hours of the morning. I let my thoughts drift over everything that had happened so far, it wasn't a lot but I felt like it was. I had let my hopes get too high I think when we went to the Silver Fang pack, hoping I would fall madly in love with the first wolf I saw. I needed to keep reminding myself that there would be no mate bond with this, there would be no love at first site, it would take time. I just needed to be patient and let everything happen as it may, I shouldn't force anything to happen. I snuggled in deeper to my covers and slipped off into a deep sleep.
