I got to the airport and booked the next flight to Los Angeles.

I truly got lucky because the flight was nearly all sold out.

All I had to do was wait an hour. As I was sitting down waiting and listening to some music, a sudden thought hit me.

I still have that knife in my bag! Oh fuck, this is not the place to be carrying a weapon.

I quickly picked up my bag from the ground in front of me and speed walked to the nearest washroom.

There were some women inside, so I waited until they left to pull it out of my bag.

It was still wrapped in the paper towel which I was glad I put around it.

I quickly threw it in the garbage can and made my way back out to the waiting area.

The plane began to take off and I started feeling anxious.

I hate traveling alone and I hate airplanes. One of the flight attendants must have noticed my worry because she made her way over to me.

"Hello, is everything alright ma'am? Could I offer you anything to drink?" She asked with a smile.

"Um sure thank you, a water would be great." I thanked as she nodded and went to get it for me.

I put my headphones in and kept my eyes shut for most of the flight.

It was about 5 hours long which was the worst part of it all.

It felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders when we finally landed.

I looked out the window as the plane was rolling into LAX. I then turned my phone off airplane mode and texted Ryan that I had just arrived.

I've never been to Los Angeles before, let alone anywhere that there's palm trees so I was amazed at the sight.

We were finally allowed to exit the plane and I was so happy that I had packed light and only brought one carry on.

I grabbed it from the overhead compartment and made my way off of the plane.

The airport was so huge and I was worried I would get lost but I continued following in the direction everyone else who was on the same flight as me were going in.

When we got to one of the exits, I could see taxis parked outside and people reuniting with their families.

I nervously looked around for Ryan, but couldn't find him.

Just then, I received a text from him.

"Hey I'm here, what are you wearing?" He asked.

"Just a mint green top and skirt lol 🤷🏽‍♀️"

"Okay I figured that was you 😝"  He replied and seconds later I felt someone tap my shoulder from behind.

And there he was. The one person in the world right now who knew exactly what I was going through.
