"We found Dema.."

I can't believe it.

I've been feeling very doubtful all day about the address the man gave, so to actually see it before my very eyes came as a surprise.

"The man was actually right.." Ryan said, just as shocked as me.

Lucky for us, it's 2.am so hopefully the darkness will help us.

We started walking towards Dema while crouching to stay out of sight.

"These damn bright yellow ponchos are practically targets." Ryan groaned.

"Let's just stay low, and away from the view of the gate." I instructed as we reached the concrete walls.

"What's the plan?" Ryan questioned as I realized we didn't exactly have one.

"I- I don't know. We can kill the bishops.." I proposed nervously.

"It's just the two of us and we only have one gun. I highly doubt all of the bishops are going to be standing around the front gates right now." Ryan pointed out.

"You're right.. but we don't exactly have any other option.." I sighed.

"Pass me the gun." I said as I stuck my hand out.

Ryan hesitantly handed me the now loaded weapon.

We both walked along the walls until we reached the gate. We were still out of sight.

"Eden. This could be it.. if they see us, we're done for." Ryan nervously held my arm stopping me from stepping into view.

"I know.. but if we don't do this, we still lose either way." I reminded him as I took the safety off the gun.

I quickly ran in front of the gate with the gun raised as Ryan followed right behind me.

The sound of the gravel underneath our feet made more noise than we would have liked, instantly catching the two bishops who were standing at the gates attention.

I froze with the gun pointed at them. They looked at Ryan and I.

Am I capable of murder? I don't even think they're human but still..

A tear rolled down my cheek as my finger lightly touched the trigger.

But just as I was about to shoot, the bishops turned away from us and continued standing around as if we weren't even there.

Ryan and I shared a look of confusion.

"Why aren't they doing anything?" I quietly whispered while my finger was still protectively ghosting the trigger.

"Do you think they even saw us?" Ryan questioned.

"Th-they were looking right at us.." I stuttered.

Ryan loudly clapped his hands, regaining the bishops attention.

They quickly turned back around, looking around as if trying to find where the sound came from.

They opened the gate, and walked out.

Ryan was right, they didn't see us..

It's not even dark enough where we're standing to not be able to see us. There's more than enough light coming from inside of Dema.

I still held the gun up, ready to shoot at any given moment as Ryan and I watched the bishops blindly walk around.

We both started backing up, slowly and quietly.
