Girl above stars as Danielle

Danielle's P.O.V

"Ready?" I heard a Hazel call from upstairs. I was ready ages ago so I decided to stand by Hazel's front door and admire my outfit in the long mirror that her mum had placed on the wall about 3 weeks ago. Today I had on my red, flowery skater dress and my new white Air Maxes that I brought at the mall yesterday with Hazel.

When I woke up this morning it amazed me how my hair was already straight, because normally I'd have to wake up to a giant brown birds nest on my head and it would take me sooo much effort to brush all the knots out. Thankfully, today all I had to do was brush my hair through once, which saved me a lot of time to do my makeup.

Me and Hazel basically chucked the same pieces of make-up in our baskets whenever we went out shopping, so I didn't have to worry about going over the top because I knew that Hazel would be wearing the same amount on as me.

I had the usual stuff on my face and then my bright red lipstick that I've had for about a year now. (It's my favourite so don't judge).

I looked in the mirror for about 2 minutes, admiring the way my feet looked so amazing in my new shoes, before I attempted to put on the SnapBack Hazel got me last year, on my head in a way that wouldn't mess up my hair.

"More ready than you are bitch" I replied, remembering the sight of Hazel still in her pyjamas about an hour ago.

Hazel was taking so long, I was wondering why she hadn't come down the stairs yet...

I continued looking into the mirror thinking that it would kill time.

Just as I was about to turn around to the marble staircase, I saw Hazel standing behind me in the mirror...... She sent me screaming! That bitch.

"What the fuck man!?" I exclaimed... It's always her who scares the life out of me!

She laughed. I rolled my eyes and turned around to see what she was wearing...

Lord of mercy she looks gorgeous! Better than me even... Fucking hell she's probably gonna look the best out of everyone at the skatepark!

"You like?" She asked placing one of her goofy smiles on her face, pointing towards her stunning outfit. Oh I liked, and I could tell she knew that I liked what she was wearing because I'm pretty sure my mouth was wide open and my eye were popping out of my sockets.

I had to compliment her. She's insecure most of the time so I just felt like I had to say something nice to her in order for her to feel better about herself. Not that she hates herself or anything... It's just she always thinks that everyone else around her is more beautiful... It's so not true!

I smiled. "Hazel man, you look...... Shit well you look buffer than me that's for sure!"

I wasn't lying! To be honest, sometimes I can be a self-centred bitch, and Hazel knows that by now since she's my best friend in the whole wide world.

We both laughed in unison, mainly because of the fact that I decided to use a swear word in the middle of my sentence, which was totally irrelevant for the situation. But Hazel knows that I do that all the time and I admire the way she puts up with it without making a fuss.

She swears too, but only when it's necessary, whereas I swear like whenever my mouth opens... It's just how I roll you know?

"Thanks," she said shyly whilst twirling around in the mirror.

She done this for about 2 minutes and I silently sighed to myself, thanking God for the fact that "thanks" was all she said because normally she would comment something like "but you look nicer anyways."

I smiled to myself, praising my inner Dan for being so caring for my best friend.

"But you look ten times better than me."

My face dropped and I swore in my mind for just thinking that she wouldn't go the day without saying something to bring her ego down after the sentence.

She stood still for a moment looking blankly inside of the mirror.

"Well we'll see who looks the best when we get there shall we?" I said.

It wasn't a question, it was a statement. I was trying to let her know that it was gonna be her no doubt... But I don't think she got the memo.

She stayed still staring at her reflection. I clicked my fingers in her face. She stayed still staring at her reflection.

"Hello bitch, to planet earth." She stayed still staring at her reflection.

That's when I realised that she wasn't even listening to me.

I always said "hello bitch to planet earth." She'd always reply to me.

She must've been thinking really deep to not have regained her imagination.

Finally after about 20 seconds she came back to life.

"Hazel," I called still repeatedly clicking my fingers in her face. I stopped when she blinked twice and took a step back to avoid my fingers colliding with her face.

"Sorry what?" She asked shaking her head in confusion. I smiled at her and repeated what I said.

"I said we'll see who looks the best when we get there shall we?"

She smiled lightly at me and then we both headed out of the door with our skateboards and headed over to the main part of our lives. The skatepark.
