Danielle's P.O.V
I dashed for the smoothie bar. People made way as cold water was squirted recklessly in the air. I could hear screams coming from all directions; and they weren't from my lips, I was too busy running to force a sound out of my mouth.
Chloe Zocker was behind the bar serving drinks before she saw me running with all my strength towards the tables. She smiled and made way allowing me to jump over the bar filled with glasses and empty bottles. Glass shattered across the floor but I couldn't care less and Chloe didn't seem all that bothered.
"Hide here," Chloe motioned toward the smoothie bar's closet full of plastic cups and different types of juice, fruits, wine etc. Before I could say anything she slammed the door shut so no one would find me.My nose was filled with the scent of mangos, pineapples, strawberries and all different kinds of tropical fruits. The room was pitch black so I couldn't see anything. If I could see I would probably devour all the fruits that caught my eye.
Focus Dani, focus!
I walked towards what I thought was the closets door and placed my right ear on the surface. Screams, people shouting, laughing was all I could mostly hear, but underneath that chaos I could kind of hear the sound of Chloe's voice talking. It was all muffled and quiet so I wasn't sure who she was talking to and what she was saying... I prayed silently for a miracle that no one would find me and dump ice water all over my perfect skater dress...
Chloe's P.O.V
Stay calm Chloe, stay calm.
The boys were coming this way with their sexy bodies, holding massive water guns. Luckily for Danielle most of them went to chase Hazel so there was a very low chance of her being found. About 5 boys were still looking for her; they had seen her run up towards the smoothie bar but looked away as soon as she jumped over the table.
They're not gonna find her...
I pretended to busy myself and look like I was actually still working, but I could feel the tension rise up my throat as I began to hear their footsteps. I started to wonder how on earth they knew where to look, because after all, they didn't see Danielle jump over the bar. Then it dawned on me. All over the floor were shattered glasses and broken bottles, the mess that Danielle left when she made a run for it. Plus, all the customers were gone so it looked like I was just working for nothing.
"Excuse me miss..."
Shit!
I turned around and smiled, partly aware that I was staring stupidly at their God given abs and their gorgeous eyes. They were so hot up close that I was unsure if I was alive or in one of my fantasy films that I like to write at home...Don't ask.
The tallest was leaning against the bar, pressing his lips into a tight smirk whilst he held the water gun in one hand. His muscles blew me away so I distracted myself by cleaning up one of the survival glasses that lay on the floor.
"Yes, errm how may I help you?" I asked washing the glass up in the sink. Looking down was easier for me because I was definitely sure that they were giving me smiles and smirks to put me off if I happened to look up.
The tallest one spoke up. "Well, you see sweetie...There's this girl that I'm looking for and I was wondering if you've seen her anywhere?"
"No sorry, there are loads of girls here at the skatepark. What did she look like?"
Please don't describe Danielle...Please, please, ple....
"Let me see..." He said standing up. I watched as his abs came into view along with his v-line...He was winding me up! "She's about this height," he said holding his hand up to describe the height he was talking about. "Has long auburn hair, has very nice legs and she's wearing a flowery skater dress..."
Shit that is Danielle...
"Well sorry I haven't seen anyone of that description; and even if I did, I don't think I'll remember them because I have so many customers."
I watched as the five boys looked around the bar. The tall one chuckled and bit his lip seductively. "There's no one here to serve?" He said.
Stupid idiot!
I felt like a complete bumhole when I realised that no one was around the smoothie bar. I mean it's not like they were actually out of the skatepark, but nearly everyone was over near the entrance. I'm not allowed to leave the bar when I'm working in case someone steals the money I've earned.
So I just stood there...Looking at the floor, averting the delicious bodies that stood in front of me.
If I waited for a little longer, the boys would've already worked out that I was hiding her, their faces were telling me that I was lying to them...I'm not a really good actor.
The glass that I was holding started to heat up underneath my hand. I was getting nervous.Purposely I dropped the glass onto the floor and watched it shatter against the other glasses that Danielle so gracefully broke. I smiled to myself knowing that I had saved time for Danielle.
"Shit," I cussed under my breath whilst bending down to pick up the broken pieces.
"Are you alright?" I heard the tall boy ask. I didn't look up because I knew I would cut myself and that would be really embarrassing. After a few minutes the sound of deafening silence lingered between us...So I killed time by talking.
"Yeah I'm fine, it's just sometimes I can just get a little bit clumsy and I tend to drop things. I don't need help it's fine. It's hard working in the bar all the time, what with all the people shouting their orders at me like I'm some kind of animal..."
By that time I finished cleaning all the glass up, thankful that I hadn't cut myself. But to my surprise when I stood up, the boys were gone. I looked around the back of the skatepark but hardly anyone was there. Danielle's friends were by the table a few minutes ago, but they weren't there either.
Phew...!
I walked up to the closet that Danielle was hiding in and knocked quietly on the door. "Psst, you can come out now," I whispered. The doorknob hesitantly turned and 10 seconds later a relieved Danielle walked out.
"That was close," she said, smoothing her skater dress out. I watched as she looked around the back of the skatepark with confusion. Before she could ask me the question I told her my answer.
"They haven't left the skatepark, but nearly everyone is round the front for some reason. I would check it out but I'm not allowed to leave the bar and well you...If you left to go see them you'll probably get soaked."
"What about my girls?" She asked. I shrugged.
"They were here about 7 minutes ago just sitting at the table, but then they went."
"They're probably in the bathroom," Danielle suggested.
"Yeah, maybe," I said.
"And the boys," she said turning to me.
"The boys disappeared too; first I was talking to them and the next minute they were gone."
She sighed happily and smiled at me. "Well thanks for helping me out Chloe." Then she motioned towards the floor and the table. "And I'm sorry for making such a mess, how much do I owe you?"
My face jolted in surprise. "No, no it's fine you don't owe me anything," I quickly replied smiling nervously.
"Alright thanks, I'm gonna go to the bathroom," she said jumping over the bar, careful not to break anymore glasses. "Don't worry, I'll be back."
And with that...My only friend was gone.
"And I'll just be right here. Like always," I whispered into the silent wind...
