Danielle's P.O.V
"Where's everyone gone?" I asked as I walked downstairs with the girls following behind me. My mum was by the door, closing it gently with a smile on her face. When she saw my face full of worry, she frowned.
"Book Club's finished now girls, you just missed us. Maybe you should join next ti-,"
I rushed to the door, slightly barging past my mum on the way. Hazel was right behind me, her eyes scanning the road for a car.
"Who was the last person out of the house?" I asked quickly.
"Hazel's mum, why did you want to speak to her?"
I looked back at Hazel and she shook her head. It couldn't be Hazel's mum. There was no way in he-.
"Wait, who's car is that?" Hazel questioned. "That's not my mums car."
My mum was squinting, trying to see in the darkness without her glasses on.
"Hazel memorise this," I called out. "SE78WPH"
"SE78WPH" Hazel repeated. She murmured the number plate all the way into the kitchen, until she put it down on a piece of paper.
"How are we gonna search up the car?" Georgia asked, jumping up on the kitchen counter.
My mum walked into the kitchen and looked at us all. "You can only do that through the police force." Her arms were folded and a curious frown was etched upon her forehead. "What is going on girls?"
"We're being attacked." Ellie cried, dramatically dropping down on the floor.
I pushed my foot on Ellie's chest and shot her a glare.
"What, by who?" My mum asked, "is someone threatening you?"
"Yeah," Ellie choked out, wincing as I pushed my foot into her further. "I mean. No not at all," she coughed.
"Is there a way of searching for this car without getting the police involved?" Hazel asked, tapping her acrylic nails on the kitchen table.
"They're already involved," Hannah began. "I can tell my lawyer, he can help us out."
"You have a lawyer?" Ellie asked, her left eyebrow raised.
"Yes. After I was arrested and accused of Michelle's death, I had to get a lawyer. He thinks I'm a psycho."
"But you are a psycho." Zoey asked, chuckling.
"Okay, okay, focus." My mum said, snapping her fingernails. "What do we do?"
I looked at my mum with a frown, "what do you mean we?"
"You're not getting involved, sorry Mrs-."
"You've already involved me, whoever is threatening you is apart of my Book Club-"
"We don't know that for sure," Hazel spoke up.
"Well, we're about to find out." My mum pulled out her phone and began calling someone.
"Hey Heather, sorry to bother you, but I'm going to have to bring Book Club a bit closer than normal. Yeah, I know its supposed to be every 2 weeks, but I have somewhere to be on the 14th. Yeah, so is it possible we can bring it forward to next week Tuesday? Yeah, at my house. Perfect. Let the others know for me, okay. Great, I'll see you soon. Have a good evening. Bye, bye, bye."
I looked at my mum as she hung up the phone.
"If it happens again, we'll know for sure that its someone in the Book Club. In the meanwhile..." She went into the oven and pulled put a homemade lasagne. "Who wants some food?"

Hazel's P.O.V
"Okay, so here's the deal: The first one to the third lamppost wins, and can choose where we eat at the mall."
"I don't understand why we can't just eat at Nando's. You love Nando's?" Danielle was huffing at me, one foot placed on her skateboard."
I shook my head. "All we eat is Nando's, it's getting boring. Plus, every time I go to get a lemonade, water comes out. I'm sick and tired of it. I want to eat at Burger Shack."
"I'm not eating at Burger Shack." Danielle argued.
"You haven't even been there before." I replied. What was the problem?
"I stick to what I'm used to. I want Nando's."
"I want Burger Shack."
"Nandos."
I huffed. "So like I was saying, first one to the third lamppost gets to make the choice. Are you in or are you out?"
"Fine. But I get a head start." Danielle said, getting ready to go.
"Why the hell do you get a head start?"
"You're legs are longer than mine," she murmured.
"My legs are what?" I said smirking a bit. She was such a sore loser.
"You'relegsarelongerthanmine. Okay 3,2,1 go." And before I could even swallow, Danielle was already skating off.
"What the fuck?" I stood there, watching her move further away from me. "That's cheating!" I yelled.
Danielle continued to skate, and looked back at me, sticking her two middle fingers up. Before I could tell her to move, a car sped down the road and-
"Danielle watch out!"
*******************
"Are you okay?" I dropped down on my knees beside her, placing my hands behind her head, She sat up with an expression of confusion, her hand touching the small of her neck. "What the hell dude?" She groaned lowly, sticking her middle finger up at the vehicle that was now sitting patiently in the middle of the road.
I turned to look at the car, and realised that the number plate was the exact same as the one we had seen on Book Club Night. "Something's just not right," I murmured, slowly standing up. I wanted to see what the driver looked like, but before I took a step closer to them, they fled the scene, turning sharp to go right.
"It was The Black Hood, wasn't it?" Danielle's eyes squinted in pain and agony.
"I don't know Danielle, but we're calling the girls. Tell them to meet us at the mall. ASAP!"
