Chapter 2
Hazel's P.O.V
The area that I lived in was pretty minted, all the houses were as big as mansions.
No wait, scratch that, all the houses were mansions... But mine was the biggest on the street.
Danielle didn't live in my area, but that didn't matter because most of the time she was round my house anyways, and seeing we were still in the summer holidays; Danielle was round my house nearly every single day.
We decided to skate slowly, only on my street though. We wanted to spend the time admiring the view of the amazing houses that stood dominantly on the sidewalks. There were houses that had black gates at the entrance, blocking all the creeps that went pass them, from getting into the inside.
Other houses had massive, grey statues at the entrances. Some of sleeping angels that protected the household and everyone in it, representing peace and holiness. The others were of wicked, strong animals with their teeth flaring out. Representing dominance and power, which was what the owners were in personality.
My favourite house was the last one at the end of the street. Me and Danielle both stopped skating and stood there mesmerised by the delicate details that covered the mansion from head to toe, or in this case door to roof.
At the entrance were two large dragon statues on either side, standing on their back legs and raising the other two in the air. Their mouths were wide open. Most of the time water would come out, watering the green grass around them. Their heads would turn and everything. It was pretty damn epic.
On special occasions it was a whole other level. Real flames would appear for their mouths every time a visitor came to the entrance. The house would be covered in sparkles and candles would be placed on the walk path that led up to the round wooden door.
"Never gets old," Danielle said as she shook her head in respect and awe.
"Trust me," I replied, and with that we both took off into the daylight.
Danielle's P.O.V
"Faster!" I shouted as I picked up the pace I was going at with my skateboard. Hazel was on the opposite sidewalk as me and we were both smiling wickedly at each other whilst we raced to the main part of the broadway.
Glares were given to the both of us as we darted around members of the public, avoiding collision with our epic skills. Once we came to the entrance of Burton's Broadway, we both met each other side by side and started skating at a slower pace so we could talk.
"I won... Sorry yeah, maybe next time alright bitch," I laughed, pumping my fists into the air.
Hazel grinned. "Yeah only cause I accidentally bumped into the lamppost because I was laughing at your rude gestures to that waitress," she explained, shaking her head at me and my rude ways.
She was right anyways. Most of the time she would win fair and square, (and by most of the time I mean all the time). I decided to try and distract her and with my amazing acting skills, it actually worked.
Good for you Dan, good for you!
We were passing more and more shops and our talking was totally distracting the both of us from our surroundings.
Out of the corner of my eye I spotted a big group of skater boys outside Splendid and I managed to stop just in time before we passed them. I held my hand out in front of Hazel and stopped immediately and straight after, she stopped too.
"Woah, hot skater boy alert 10:00, I repeat hot skater boy alert at 10:00!" I said nodding my head towards the milkshake shop about 5 metres away from us.
Hazel instantly knew where to look and once she saw the sight I was seeing... She grinned. Her confidence was growing... We both knew it.
"Ready for race to the skatepark level 2?" She asked with daring look in her eyes. Her tongue made the click noise and then she said "Or nah?"
I gave the same gleaming look to her and with that I replied "Yasssss bissh!"
We both got ready to go... One foot on the skateboard and one on the ground.
"Leader first my lady," I called to Hazel. She shyly smiled at me and then regained that bad girl confidence.
This is gonna be interesting...
"You know the deal," she said to me nodding her head in a gangsta way. I nodded back, letting her know that I knew the plan.
We counted out loud together...... "3,2,1."
