Chapter 15: Cornyville
Ivy’s POV
Today was Ryder’s big day! We all kind of sounded like joyful parents getting ready for their kid’s first day at school by the way all of us were cooing and excitedly chattering. Ryder, however, was a nervous box of jumpiness. He would be deep in thought one minute, then someone would accidentally touch him, and he’d jump a mile.
It was kind of adorable actually, but he didn’t think so. Every time I brought it up he’d scowl at me with those melting eyes of his.
I could tell he was excited about it too though; he always smiled into the distance when he was in deep thought.
“Hey! Earth to Ivy!” Dylan yelled across from me, throwing a pillow at my face.
I only just managed to dodge it. “What!?” I yelled back.
“When do we get to eat dinner?”
I rolled my eyes. “For fuck’s sake, just go and help yourself to the damned cupboards. Be careful to leave at least some food, my family needs to eat you know.”
He nodded and disappeared off into the kitchen. I heard rummaging and banging of cupboards shortly after he left. Roman rolled his eyes across from me. I giggled in agreement.
Roman, Dylan and I were waiting in my lounge for Ryder and Crystal to come out. It wasn’t actually dodgy like I made it out to be, Crystal was just helping Ryder style his hair, hide his bruise and fix up his outfit. We had all decided that he should wear dark wash jeans, a plain low v-neck t-shirt with a black leather jacket to top it all off. Not to mention, plain black converse. The plain style seemed to suit him more and make him more handsome. Perfect for his date with Stephanie.
I sighed. I’m not sure how well this would work out, but some part of me hoped it would crash and burn. I’m not sure why, but I just do.
“Hey Ivy,” Dylan mumbled over a mouthful of a large sandwich as he appeared next to me. “How much longer do you think they’ll be?”
I shrugged. “How am I supposed to know?”
He plopped back down in his seat across from me and loudly munched on his sandwich. He didn’t know either.
“Hey guys!” Crystal called as she literally bounced into the room. She always amazed me with the never ending amount of energy she seemed to posses.
“Are you done yet?” Dylan mumbled again through his sandwich.
Crystal giggled before she stepped aside and showed us Ryder.
My jaw literally hit the floor. He looked incredible. The outfit we picked him hugged his abdomen to show off his well defined abs, and the jeans hung just right. Hell, even his hair was styled perfectly to make him look sexy and handsome. Honestly, I’m not very easy to swoon at the sight of a guy, but right now, I was butter, and he was toast.
“Damn Crystal, if I wasn’t gay before, I am now,” Dylan commented, and he actually seemed to be truthful.
Ryder grinned (although his eyes still looked suspicious) and I literally almost sighed dramatically like Crystal usually does. Then he looked at me. His eyes caught mine and I quickly looked away, my face going hot. He was going to be the perfect date for Stephanie, and only Stephanie. Why did I feel so disappointed?
