Chapter 20: Second Dates And Silly Mistakes
I took a deep breath and walked towards the door, one foot in front of the other. It was Friday night again, and the others had all wished me luck as they threw me out the door: on time. I was nervous to say the least, because what if I screwed it up again? I knew that I would never be able to fix it, it would all be over.
Of course, Stephanie will probably leave me the minute she finds out about my past, but for now, I just need a hint of what I could have had, before it all went down the drain. I just needed a glimpse at what I could have been if I hadn’t turned to drugs, and that was Stephanie. I wanted, no, I needed this to work out in my favour. Just once in my life I want something normal.
I steeled myself and knocked on the door, three sharp knocks. Even though it was quick, my knuckles still screamed in protest. It was a purely wooden door.
I smoothed out my black dress suit with the sleeves rolled up and checked myself over one last time. I wore dark denim jeans and my shirt hung out over them, making me look slightly untidy, but it suited me better this way, well, that’s what the girls said anyway. My hair was its normal messy style with extra ‘flare’ and my shoes were fancy dress shoes that Roman let me borrow, because we actually had the same size feet.
When Crystal found out, she yelled in triumph that the ‘shoe rule’ was definitely true, especially since Dylan was one size smaller than us. Dylan however, threw a fit and refused to sleep with Crystal for a week, then we had mutiny on our hands. I shivered, that was one horrible memory.
Finally, after what seemed like hours of waiting, I heard a click as the locks slid out of place. The door opened to reveal Stephanie dressed in a sleeveless blue dress, knee length and showing plenty of skin.
I gulped, I was warned about this, I had to keep my eyes up, but also compliment her with gentle hints.
She smiled brightly, her glittery eyeliner sparkling.
“Hey,” She whispered, as she stepped down off the step.
“Hey,” I replied hoarsely.
Her eyes glinted with mischief, and I finally realised why the female of the species are known as the ‘devious’ type. I gulped again then harshly brought up all of the tips I was given.
“You look absolutely gorgeous,” I added a wink at the end as I held my arm out, gentleman style.
She giggled seductively and took my arm, I felt like I was doomed from that moment onwards. I was done for, and happily too.
Just act cool Ryder.
I was grinning like an idiot and probably resembled a scary clown without all the makeup and massive shoes. Stephanie was telling me all about what they’re doing in the cheerleading squad recently. But I wasn’t paying any attention, Stephanie was using every moment she had to use her femininity to seduce me and make me slowly turn to jelly. It was working, and I was slowly losing all thought as I grew more and more horny.
In some part of my mind, I hoped that I wouldn’t turn out to be like Dylan and Crystal, but the horny part wouldn’t care if we were in public or not. I ignored both completely and went to take a sip of my drink.
