Chapter 16: We Belong Way Down Below
When I woke up, it was well into Saturday and my head throbbed dramatically.
Last night, when they finally realised that I was not moving from my place on the ground, they decided to give up. Then Ivy saw red in my hair, before they started screaming and dragging me off to the hospital.
This time, I actually did get a pretty good injury, but I still managed to only just miss getting concussion. Everyone was shocked about it, but I still had to have stitches. I have three, they tug and pull at the back of my head where it was cut open, thanks to my stunt on the Ferris Wheel. And the bonus is, my hair is long enough to cover up the bald patch! But Dylan still finds it hilarious.
“I think that you either stop all of this nonsense of chasing after a girl and try to live a normal life, or you move to a new town again,” My therapist- Mark- sighed. He quickly saw me after the whole incident last night, he didn’t care that it was late and after hours, he was a good therapist.
But now, all of last night was just a blur.
“Hey son,” My Dad poked his head in, it was styled up and he had actually shaved.
I narrowed my eyes at him.
“I’m going to go out for a few hours, don’t wait up for me either, I don’t know when I’ll be back. Also, Ivy and the others will be over soon, so you might want to actually get up. And lunch is in the fridge!” He ducked out before I could grill him about where he was going. I sighed in annoyance, but I slowly got up anyway.
Half an hour later and I was showered, dressed, and at the table eating lunch, but I had bags under my eyes, looked like the walking dead, and held an icepack to the back of my head. I think I seriously needed to think about my health situation.
Somehow my education was going fine, even though I missed two years of it, but it was my health that was going downhill, after nearly two years trying to build it back up.
I played with my food until the others came over.
“Oh wow, I need to take a picture,” Dylan commented as soon as he walked into the kitchen with the others.
“Dylan! Don’t be so rude, he just screwed up his only date last night, you could cut him some slack,” Crystal scolded, but somehow she didn’t make me feel much better.
Ivy sat down next to me with concern filling her eyes. “Are you okay? Like, honestly okay?”
I looked down at my half eaten lunch, then back up to Ivy, then at the others before I looked back down at my lunch. I don’t know how, but my only response ended up being me letting my face fall into my lunch with a loud splat.
“I have a feeling that he’s not okay,” Crystal spoke up.
I heard Roman snort out a laugh, while Ivy sighed dramatically and helped me out of my lunch.
45 minutes 39 seconds later and we were all seated around my living room. Ivy helped clean me up again, but when it got to changing my shirt, I threw her out of the room. She had seen my scar before, but I wasn’t in the mood to talk about it, or to let her see it again.
