Today is my 16th birthday, and I thought that I would post the very last ever chapter of Insanity today. Insanity has meant so much to me, and I've been writing it for about a year, maybe more, and since today also means a lot to me (first birthday in awhile that seems to have gone right, besides my tiredness thanks to Ethan and Cassandra, kidding, love you guys <3) I thought that I would make today extra special. Also, thank you to Monica who couldn't spend my birthday with me today, and thank to everyone else who has wished me well, and has spoiled me despite being the 'girl with everything'
This chapter is dedicated to Fictional Characters because they just make the world better, including the Insanity crew, actually, ESPECIALLY the Insanity crew ;)
BONUS CHAPTER! Christmas Edition: Under The Mistletoe
Christmas melodies played in the background and the stench of pine mixed with the sweet smell of a roast slowly cooking. Our neighbour was away you see, and we had to figure out if our oven worked sooner or later. It was Christmas time, and Dad and I had only just found our Christmas tree decorations… And hijacked the tree last night.
“So, who’s putting the star on?” I asked Dad since it was the last thing to go on the tree. It was our very first Christmas in Dembenton, and we were both looking forward to it. Mark and Daniel were coming over for dinner, while all of my friends were coming over for most of the day, with Rex and Ray popping by at some stage.
“Um, well you’re taller, and you’re younger, and you can do it,” Dad replied, eyeing the top of the tree- we may have chosen the tallest tree out of the lot. It almost touched the roof and it was quite a fat tree, but it fit a lot of decorations on it.
I shrugged as I reached up, but that didn’t seem to cut it. I was tall, but the tree was taller, and fatter. I sunk into the tree as I continued to reach. Then the doorbell rung, and I was stuck.
“Dad!” I yelled, as I wrestled with the tree.
“Let yourself in!” He yelled to the door while he tried to pull me out. I was quite stuck.
“Seriously? And we thought you almost injured yourself putting the lights up,” Ivy scoffed as she walked in.
“Shut up,” I mumbled as I continued to struggle.
I saw Ivy walk towards me and she helped my Dad pull me out. I landed in a heap on the floor.
“There he is,” She grinned at me from above.
“Mhm,” I mumbled back as I pulled her down to me so I could give her a kiss.
I heard my Dad huff as he walked away to check the roast.
“Hey beautiful, merry Christmas,” I grinned as we gently broke apart.
“Merry Christmas goofball,” She replied back with a grin of her own as she jumped up.
“Hey, that’s not fair. I was nice to you,” I protested as I stood up too.
“Oh?” She teased before she kissed me again. It was so good to be around her nearly all of the time, I couldn’t imagine how I handled it before she was mine. And she is mine, I loved her dearly, and she loved me, clumsiness and all.
My Dad cleared his throat in the doorway, giving us a raised eyebrow. “I hope it’s PG in here,” He said, putting on his stern parent voice.
I rolled my eyes as Ivy looked down in embarrassment.
“Now, put that star on the tree you two,” He changed his tone of voice as he held up a camera, smiling at us.
