This is the very last chapter of Insanity. Of course, there's a bonus chapter, but this is the ending. I adore the last few words, I and hope you do too :)
I just want to take a quick moment to thank all of my family, even if it all just goes straight over their heads when I ramble about my latest and greatest, but I know they're glad I've found something I love. And I do, I'm also very sad to see Insanity go, but the characters will always be there, throwing parties and tripping over :P I also want to send a special thank you to Cassandra, Ethan and Monica for all of your helpful feedback and light jokes that kept me going. I also adore how you guys inspired me to continue, even when I decided to just restart. And a VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ALL OF MY READERS! Without you, I would be nothing. You mean the world to me, and if you hadn't of been here, Insanity would cease to exist, so thank you.
I hope you enjoy this chapter :) I know I did.
Chapter 30: We Are Insane After All
It was all behind me, my entire past had just been shrugged off like an old leather jacket that needed to go. My Mom hadn’t bothered us since, Brad was over in another town never to be seen again, and Stephanie was dating the new captain of the football team. I didn’t really care, I had my friends.
A month had disappeared since the funeral and I was feeling good. I wasn’t afraid, and for the first time in forever, I didn’t want to change anything. I was head of the Math Club and we hadn’t lost a quiz since I joined. I was doing really well in my schoolwork, and we were coming nearer to the end of year exams, but we were all pumped for them. This year we were all going to smash it and be in the top for next year’s classes. We still have a year or two left, but now we have plenty of spare time thanks to our addictions being washed away.
Dylan and Crystal were going strong, and they hadn’t had much sex since they started dating; they respected each other, despite already having thrown that out the window. They were actually looking for a flat to move in together so they could get away from their hounding families.
Roman had hit it off with Amy from my rehab, and she had stayed true to her word because she showed up not soon after for her rehabilitation to really start. Roman’s been a big help to her, and the rest of us are all thinking that there’s another reason behind all of the time they spend together.
Then there’s Ivy. She’s the light in my life that I can’t live without. And I mean that literally, the one day that she was home sick, I blew up the science lab, fell down a flight of stairs and went through a window. Relax, it was a first story one, although I will have a scar from the fact that I landed in a rose bush. Ivy and I are happy and we help each other while living life to the fullest.
“So…” Dylan drawled, “What coloured streaks are we going for this time? Red or green?”
I rolled my eyes. “Red, green will clash too much with our jerseys,” I replied, grinning.
“Red it is!” Crystal shouted, gently taking the box out of Dylan’s hands.
We had officially started a club of our own, ‘The Rehab Junkies.’ We helped a lot of people with addictions and we taught them to live their lives better, based on how well we’ve done. So far, we’ve successfully recruited 7 other people, including Amy, and we start them on the right road. Mark and Daniel help, along with my Dad who is like the ‘house mother.’
Crystal had started a thing when she made us dye our hair, so now we make it a tradition to dye it every two months, all matching colours, just the five of us. And we all have matching dark purple jersey’s for our club that we wore nearly all of the time. Although, Ivy quite often wears my leather jacket.
