"Vic, listen to me. You're going to enjoy History today." Tay said to me Monday morning in form, smirking. Normally I would have at least asked her what it is was that she was talking about but that day I was in no mood to be bothered and I had no idea why. Tay was one of my closest friends so I didn't mind her watching me as I drew another 'masterpiece' as Jenna would say. I was drawing a Hawk with missing feathers, soaring through the dark sky into a perfect sunlight with water dripping out of clear wounds covering it's body. Almost all my drawings were very symbolic. I had tried to represent this drawing as a way of staying strong through harsh times. History was one of my worst subjects, I didn't have our form tutor for that lesson and only a few of friends had it with me so I had no clue what would make me enjoy it in the slightest. History was second lesson, Art first, so I figured that I would just have to wait for whatever it was.

Art was obviously one of my favourite subjects alongside Music but only when we were studying something that could actually be classified as interesting. This was not one of those times. I enjoyed the practical sessions in art where we'd experiment with paint and different materials, where I'd be left to express myself without anyone criticizing my work. I hated doing projects where we'd be fixed into one area of art that we may not even be able to put our own twist to it to make it original but not many people thought the way I did. I let Miss' voice sink into my thoughts so I could at least pass this subject when I took my final tests later on in the year. Soon enough I was distracted by Jenna kicking my leg under the table next to me. I peered over at her, noting that she was trying to supress a grin and stare unknowingly ahead of her. I narrowed my eyes at her for a moment as I swung my left leg back and kicked her hard in the shin. I couldn't tell if she whimpered or laughed. She repeated my action and I did the same until we had a full blown war going on underneath the table. I decided to take a full step f urther. I flicked her. Yes. I flicked her ear. She turned to me and I read her eyes because I knew she was trying to signal the words, "Game on." My first intentions were to carry on flicking her but instead she made the first move by grabbing my hand and holding it down so that I couldn't resist as she latched her arm round my waist and began to tickle the side of my stomach. I let out a muffled half giggle, half cry as I tried to not distract Miss at the front but we had already gained the attention of most of our classmates which was not in my favour. He was watching us too. I'm not sure why but I felt a pang of guilt in my chest when my eyes skimmed the classroom and landed on Kellin's face. I unravelled myself from Jenna's grasp on me and said lightly, "You win." as I gave her a small smile.

I almost darted to History once Art had finished, forgetting that I shouldn't ditch Jaime so I swiftly ran back to grab him then together we calmly and almost in a civilised manor headed to History. We immediately pushed open the door and welcomed ourselves in. We walked to the back of the classroom and sat in our usual places.

"Hey, Jaime, did Tay tell you that anything exciting was meant to be happening this lesson?" I leaned towards him, whispering in case nothing was happening and Tay had just taken me for a fool. Nothing out of the ordinary.

"Yeah, Tay did tell me to look forward to History. So did Jenna, neither told me why," he replied and a wave of relief washed over me because I could feel less stupid than normal.

After a short while students began to flood into the room and Tay took her seat next to me, resting her bag on my lap as she unloaded it to prepare herself for the lesson. I laughed as she used me rather than the table right in front of her. A couple minutes later she sat down and Miss Demetria began to take the register. I carried on with my Hawk drawing to let the time fly by until at the end of the register I heard Jesse say, "You missed John!" Who the hell was John? There was no John in our History. I looked up and over the tops of various heads until I came across a familiar face. Him. Kellin.

Miss Demetria was a new teacher, the first time we had her was only just the week before. Jaime and I swapped puzzled looks. John. Kellin. New teacher. What? Jesse stood up and put his hand out in the direction of Kellin, "Miss, this is John. He comes from up town. He moved here today and is joining our lesson, I'm the one showing him around."

One more confused look from me and then I understood what was going on and why I was told to look forward to this second period. Kellin decided to sneak into our lesson, take on the name John and fool Miss Demetria as the new kid. There was only one way this could go and that was downhill. I had no doubt that at least two member of staff would half way through the lesson would burst into the lesson asking for the whereabouts of Kellin because he would have been marked down as absent in his original class. Again, I was wrong. Kellin, 'John', stood up and pretended to introduce himself.

"Good morning, my name is John Stew." He sat down. I thought Kellin would put up more of a performance. Everyone casually greeted him with held in laughter and Miss handed him a new book for him to start in. I watched her as she picked up the register and added 'John Stew' to the bottom of the list. I glanced at Kellin who was trying not to smile as he began to realise the stupid success of this ingeniousness. I became too curious and took action to step out of my shell. I picked up my books and my bag, made my way to the empty space beside Kellin and dropped all my stuff on top of his. Miss gave me a strange look and I explained that I wanted to welcome 'John' to our lovely school as Kellin gave me a look a satisfaction, matching the expression of Jesse's face. I turned to look at Kellin and made it clear what I was thinking by the way I looked at him. What the hell are you thinking?

"Well, I got bored and thought I'd come and cheer up everyone instead of putting us all through another hour of merciless teachers and torture." He grinned and his bright eyes shone. I couldn't help but smile with him at his idiocy. I expected him to disrupt the class and keep us all amused but instead he kept his head down and focused on the work set in front of him. I guessed that getting out of his other class was all he really intended to do. We never spoke for the rest of the entire lesson but it wasn't an awkward silence at all, we just stayed focused and listened to the people around us. By the end of the lesson I returned to the seat I should've stayed in at the back and talked about whatever it is people talk about with Jaime and Tay. Once we were dismissed we all fled out apart from because I was kept behind by a large hand placed on my arm, directly above my tattoo. I turned around to see Kellin.

He just looked into my eyes for a moment then with that he just walked off.

That night I lay in bed, the same thoughts racing my mind as the evening before. Did Kellin know me before? We'd never spoken to each other and yet he could talk so freely to me, why? I wanted to know but I had no memories to serve me as proof.

Lmao this was based on actual events in my class at school
