"Can you not?" You turned to Kiara with a severely unamused face.

"How can I not? You're married!" She chanted and you rolled your eyes at her. The entire Pride Lands were able to deal with it in a day but here she was, a week later, still giggling so much that one would  assume that she was the newlywed.

"Yeah, well it wasn't exactly by choice."

Kiara stopped, slightly dread creeping into her, "Do you not want to be married?"

You stopped as well, letting yourself ponder over the question. You obviously didn't hate the idea of being married to Kion, but this is not really how you were expecting the entire thing to turn out.

"I honestly don't know." You murmured, "I mean unless I had to I don't think I would have done it so soon."

You noticed the way her face was become increasingly hostile, because you both knew that Kion was over the moon about this marriage and he would be more than crushed to find out that you didn't feel quite the same way.

"I didn't mean it like that! I swear Kiara. I mean, I guess I was just hoping it would happen a little differently." You honestly didn't know if you were telling the truth.

She bought your white lie, the tenseness in her muscles fading away, "I guess I can understand that."

Biting your lip, you followed the future queen with your head slightly hanging.

As the Pride Rock came into view, feelings of uncertainty clouded your being. You had been running away for so long, now that you were staying, you felt mixed emotions.

You were happy the first time, but you still left, because you had so much more waiting for you.

Wasn't this the same? You were still leaving your family to stay at the Pride Land. What was different this time?

Trudging towards Pride Rock, you diverted from following Kiara and instead walked behind it, heading towards a snug haven right behind it. You found that it comfort always found you when you needed to think, or just aren't in the mood to talk.

Nearing the small pond, you flopped on its bank, watching the water ripple as you sighed against it.

"That's some sigh."

"Oh! Kion!" You jumped up, splashing yourself in the process.

He grinned at you, setting himself down in the spot you were lying in, "Everything alright?"

You spared him a smile leaning against him, "Nothing, really."

"Are you sure? You really shouldn't hide anything from your husband."

You rolled your eyes, "Yeah, that makes me feel better."

Kion's brows furrowed, "What was that?"

Your eyes widened and you cowered immediately, "N-Nothing, I didn't say anything."

He stood up, glaring at you, "No, I heard you. Do you not want to be married to me?"

"I didn't say that, I just— I didn't think that now was the time."

"So, what? You're going to run away again?"

"No! I just—!"

"This is so typical, you know, running away when you actually have to commit."

You gasped lightly, "That isn't fair! I had a family waiting for me, you can't just expect me to give up that, can you?!"

"I can't imagine why you would, especially when you have nothing waiting for you back here!"
