Amanda
A few days later
Slowly winter's approaching.
You can already feel it.
When you grow up here, you develop a sense for something like that, even without special powers."Are you still there?", I hear Peter suddenly ask, looking at me with a grin.
"What?", I ask, confused.
"I asked if you wanna have a new drink", he says, laughing slightly.
"Yes, a hot chocolate. Thanks Peter", I say with a smile. Finally we have time for a normal date, to be normal teenagers for a moment.
If I wouldn't constantly think about everything else. I don't want to ruin everything.
Losing him would be the worst thing that could ever happen. He calls for a waitress, who takes the orders and disappears back towards the kitchen.
A few minutes later she returns with two hot chocolates for Peter and me."Is something wrong?", he suddenly asks after a while and sounds worried.
"No, everything's perfect, why?", I ask, putting down my cup.
"You're so absent at the moment. Is it my fault?", he looks at me questioningly.
"No Peter, that's not your fault", I say, taking his hand.
"I'm just worried again and again," I say softly.
"So what's wrong?", he asks.
"It's because I'm afraid of ruining what we have. Afraid That I could lose you", I look him straight in the eyes."You're not ruining anything, and you're not going to lose me either, never.
I love you, Amanda", he says, I look at him in surprise. So far, we both haven't dared to say that. I don't know why.
"I love you too, Peter", I say, putting my lips gently on his.
He starts to smile, as I do.How could he believe that I'm sad because of him?
He could never disappoint me.Peter
We're sitting in a café near the school.
Again and again I see that she's just looking through the window or at her empty cup.
What's wrong with her?
"Are you still there?", I ask, trying to lighten up her mood.
"What?", she asks, startled.
"I asked if you wanted to have a drink", I say.
"Yes, a hot chocolate. Thanks Peter", she smiles as well. Luckily. After our drinks have been brought, it gets quiet again.
She just takes a sip again and looks as sad as before. I need to know what's going on with her.
Is it my fault?
Does she think about breaking up?"Is something wrong?", I ask after a while.
"No, everything's perfect, why?", she puts down her cup.
"You're so absent at the moment.
Is it my fault?", I ask and look at her.
"No, Peter, that's not your fault", suddenly she takes my hand and returns my gaze.
"I'm just worried again and again," she says softly.
"So what's wrong?", I ask.
"It's because I'm afraid of ruining what we have. Afraid That I could lose you", it looks like she's about to cry.The whole time I was afraid that I could do something wrong and hurt her, but she felt the same way.
"You're not ruining anything, and you're not going to lose me either, never",
I stop for a moment.
"I love you, Amanda", I say.
She didn't seem to expect that now.
What is she going to say now?
This was the first time that any of us said 'I Love You'.But now she starts to smile.
"I love you too, Peter", shortly afterwards I feel her lips on mine and smile too.
I didn't expect that the afternoon would end this way.
