A few days later

At school

The first lesson just started.
Chemistry.
We're all busy with writing a test when someone suddenly storms into the classroom.
"Late again, Mr. Parker!", the teacher says.
Seems like someone's getting an hour detention again.
He apologizes and sits down on his place next to me.
This is luckily the only school subject, we're sitting next to each other.

"Hey", he says out of habit and notices it himself seconds later.
I just say nothing and keep on writing.
When the class is over, I hand my test to the teacher as one of the first and leave the room.
"Hey nerdy. Overzealous again?", I hear this girl ask, which I saved that time.
"If your intelligence is sufficient so far, you can try it, too", I can just retort and listen to a few students laugh.
She looks shocked. For the rest of the day, I'll probably catch some angry looks from her and her friends.
But I don't really care about it.

I just go on to physical education.
Today I'm not talking part at the game and sit around with Michelle. We talk about different things, the lessons, the tests and so on.

But no matter what we talk about, I'm constantly thinking about Peter only, who is missing again.
"How are you doing with it?", Ned asks, who has just joined us.
"I don't know", I say, looking down. After a while I feel the vibration of my second phone.
Steve.

Everyone's completely occupied with the game.
I'm running towards the exit, just past Peter. I run around the next corner and take it out of my pocket.
"What's up?", I ask.
"A new mission, are you fit again?", he asks.
"Of course I am".
"You don't sound like that", I hear Natasha say in the background.
"Thanks Nat", I say.
"We'll pick you up tonight".
"Okay, see you".
I put it back in my pocket and run back.

"Where have you been?", Ned asks, sitting next to Peter.
"Just had to make a call", I say.
After school, we're standing in front of the building again and talk.
"Movie again today?", Michelle asks.
"This time I'm coming too", Ned says.
"And you, Peter?", she asks, he just nods.
"What about you, Amanda?", now they look at me.
"Unfortunately I can't, I'll leave this evening", I say, avoiding Peter's gaze.

Peter

"Movie again today?", Michelle asks as we stand in front of the school building.
"This time I'm coming too", Ned says with a grin.
"And you, Peter?", Michelle suddenly asks me and I nod.
"What about you, Amanda?".
"Unfortunately I can't, I'll leave this evening", she says and I look at her in surprise.
What does she mean by that?
Where does she want to go?
Is she moving away?

"Where are you going?", Ned asks before I can do it.
"I have to go now", she says and suddenly runs away.

Is that because of me?

They are finally here shortly after dark.
"Where is it going now?", I ask.
"Thailand", Sam says. This time Wanda is also here, which makes me really happy, since I haven't seen her for a long time.

So now let's go to Thailand.
