Athena watched Waya writhe in agony. For two days, Athena resolved to sacrifice her immortality to save Waya but each time she got to Waya's bed, she lost her nerve and her self preservation instincts kicked in.
She wept bitterly as she left the room for she couldn't bear to watch her lover fade to death.
Freya watched quietly as Ziana threw herself upon Waya and wailed loudly hoping somehow her screams could cure the prince.
When it proved ineffectual she equally exited the room crying.
It was Freya's turn, unlike Athena and Ziana, Freya had no tears in her eyes.
She took Waya's hand in hers, immediately, Waya opened his eyes. A feat neither Athena nor Ziana could pull off.
Waya smiled at Freya, she couldn't help but smile back.
"The healer says you have one more day to live" Freya began.
Waya shrugged.
"I know, I heard her".
He could see the distress in her eyes.
"Am sorry Freya, I didn't defend you from Athena".
"Its alright. I understand you did it to protect me, although it was a cowardly thing to do".
Waya grinned before speaking
"When I die, don't miss me too much".
"I won't" Freya assured.
Waya was visibly hurt.
"That's good to know". Waya replied angrily.
"I won't miss you co's I'll be joining you in the underworld after I make Poseidon pay for what he's done."
A genuine smile covered Waya's face.
"Don't fight Poseidon, he's too powerful and don't die. Live long and live happy."
A large flaming rock moving at astonishing speed fell from the skies and headed straight for the sea.
The force of impact between the rock and the sea displaced water, causing waves and allowing the rock to sink to the bottom of the sea, into Poseidon's realm.
When the rock entered into Poseidon's realm, lightening shot out of it.
The rock transformed into an old man with waves of lightening surrounding him.
Every being in Poseidon's realm bowed before the old man as he made his way towards Poseidon's throne room.
Poseidon's throne was a six feet ice throne adorned with precious stones and mineral of which man was yet to discover from the seas.
Surrounding the throne were twelve of the most powerful mermaids who served as Poseidon's personal guards.
It was on this throne. Poseidon sat with his trident in hand. Upon sighting the old man, Poseidon smiled as he arose from his throne to pull the old man into a tight embrace.
" My brother Poseidon," the old man began. "it's been three centuries"
"It's good to see you again Zeus. What brings my brother and king of the gods to my realm".
Zeus shot Poseidon's mermaids a look and they scampered out of the throne room like rats.
"Your recent actions has drawn Olympus's attention".
Poseidon scoffed.
"My actions?"
"Olympus has been watching your little skirmish with the human Waya but when you attacked him as a pleanton god, you crossed a line ".
"Crossed a line, I am the emperor of the sea, I do as I please and I certainly to not answer to you little brother "
Zeus instantly became furious.
"I am the king of the gods and you will listen to me"
"Make me" Poseidon retorted as transformed his waist down into a giantic fish tail. Upon seeing this, Zeus caused a lightening bolt to manifest in his hands.
Both stared each down for a while before Zeus broke the silence.
"Or maybe you are afraid you cannot defeat a mere mortal in a fair fight".
Poseidon's face morphed into pure rage.
Zeus threw his lightening bolt out of the sea and towards the sky before turning his attention back to Poseidon.
"You are one of the three god-emperors, act like it "
With that, Zeus vanished.
Athena was in one the castle's many balcony painfully counting down the hours until Waya's death when she felt something ancient and powerful heading for the moon.
She didn't bother asking Freya to organize the army for she knew whatever it was, was above them.
Then she saw it, her father's lighting bolt.
On closer inspection, she observed it wasnt a destructive lightening bolt, it was a healing lightening bolt.
The lightening bolt flew past her in a flash but with her godly powers, she raced after it.
The lightening bolt flew straight into Waya's room and hit him square in the chest.
Athena arrived the room a split second later.
When she tore off Waya's shirt, the hand of the sea was gone. Zeus had healed Waya.
