He strapped the shield of Belus to his back and proceeded to levitate out of the volcano.
The instant his feet touched the grass, his mind opened to new sensations.
He could feel the sway of leaves and grasses, the whistling of the wind and the trickle of water.
He knew he could bend all of these to his will, then it hit him, an overwhelming presence. Immediately, he unstrapped the shield of Belus and stood at the ready.
Orion, Atlas and about twenty mermaids and mermen dropped in front of Waya.
Waya could sense the energy radiating from orion and Atlas, it was the same energy that radiated off Hephaestus, he knew both were gods.
Orion took a long, scourging and intensely curious look at Waya.
He scanned the new god repeatedly
"You're Waya?" He finally asked.
"One and only" Waya replied.
Orion turned to his brother Atlas and spoke in a sibilant tone
"He doesn't impress me"
"Me neither " Atlas responded
"I heard that" Waya cut in
"Who are you, I can tell you two are gods, what do you want?"
Orion began, "my name is Orion, king of Atlantis and son to Poseidon"
Waya couldn't help but laugh
"Let me guess, you're here to kill me"
Wordlessly, Orion retrieved the rib of Cronus from his armour.
Waya could feel the energy illuminate from the rib. Whatever it was, he knew it was deadly.
Orion hurled himself high into the air and came down hard with the rib of Cronus.
Waya offered the shield of Belus in defense, Orion bashed the rib of Cronus against the shield. The ferocity of the blow hurled Waya backward in a frenzy. Waya buried the shield of Belus in the ground to reduce the velocity of his movement.
The manner in which the shield displaced sand and dust as it moved was a thing of beauty.
Waya gathered himself, he acknowledged Orion wasn't to be underestimated. He jerked his neck forcefully causing a cracking sound.
He gripped his shield tighter and observed Orion.
Orion conjured an ice spear from thin air and hurled it at Waya. The ice spear shattered when it collided with the shield of Belus.
Waya tapped into his godly powers and covered distance between himself and Orion in a flash surprising Orion.
With tremendous force, he struck the king of Atlantis in the face using the shield.
Orion was flung high into the air but to his credit, he landed on his feet.
When Orion gathered himself, he understood Waya wasn't to be taken lightly.
Once again, Waya closed the distance between himself and Orion but this time Orion was ready, he delivered a back kick to Waya's leg sending the new god to the ground, he didn't hesitate in coming down hard on Waya with the rib aiming for the heart.
Waya grabbed Orion's wrist but couldn't halt the entirety of Orion's thrust.
The tip of the rib penetrated his skin, immediately, sharp pain shot through his body.
It seemed he was going to explode, he struggled to wrest the rib away from his body but Orion ceaselessly attempted to thrust the entire rib into his heart.
Waya glanced around, fingertips away from him lay the shield, with his powers, Waya bashed the shield against Orion sending him into the air and forcing him to drop the rib at the same time.
Waya shook off the pain, the rib of Cronus was just beside him, without hesitating, he reached for it.
The moment he clasped his fingers around it, energy surged within him. Whatever the weapon was, Waya was certain it could kill a god.
Left with no choice, Orion to settle for the shield Waya had bashed him with.
Orion weilded the shield while Waya grasped the rib with the intention to kill.
Waya leaped into the air and came down hard on Orion but the king of Atlantis side stepped the blow and rammed the shield against the side of Waya's face forcing him to stumble.
Orion got greedy and attempted to land another blow but Waya anticipated the move and delivered a kick to Orion's face.
Orion was incensed, never in his life had anyone been able to stand toe to toe with him in combat.
