REAL LIFE!
When you wake up to thirty missed calls from your best friend, you know something's up. Considering that's exactly what Eva saw when she woke up, she had cause to be a bit panicked. She slid off the hood of the car- how did she not fall off in the night?- and Bea subconsciously curled into the extra cover she left behind as Eva stepped around to the back of the car, dialing Hanna's number.
"Eva! Where the hell are you?" Hanna's voice was insistent, and Eva definitely sensed annoyance in it.
"Relax, I'm fine. I'm with someone I met last night. We went on an adventure." In the broad light of day, saying those words seemed very childish, like her decision to come with Bea had been spur of the moment. Sure, that was accurate, but she had fun, and it wasn't like Hanna needed her there last night.
"You had me worried sick, Eva!"
"Han, breathe. You aren't my mom. I'm fine. I'll be back at the apartment soon, probably."
"Probably? What's that sup-" Eva ended the call, stopping her friend from finishing her sentence. She knew Hanna was just being concerned, and she appreciated it, but she was also eighteen. She didn't need to be checked in on every twenty minutes. Sighing, she walked back to the front of the car, a half smile on her lips as she saw Bea stretching.
"Hey," she greeted, earning a smile from the brunette."Hi. Any clue what time it is?" Eva shrugged, looking at her phone.
"Uh, 9:30."
"Crap!" Bea shot up, sliding off the hood and tossing the blanket at Eva, who caught it with ease. "I have an interview at noon!"
"Alright, let's go then. You can drop me off at Hollywood Records' recording studio on the way." Eva slipped into the passenger seat, watching as Bea hurriedly turned on the car. Bea nodded, pulling out of the field and basically gunning it to the highway. Eva chuckled, playing on her phone as they traveled. Before she knew it, they were at her destination, and she smiled at Bea before ducking out of the car.
"Wait!" Bea called her back, and she couldn't help but notice the dimples that appeared when Eva smiled. "Can I get your number?"
"Isn't that a little forward?" Eva teased, raising an eyebrow as she leaned against the car door. The two seemed to have forgotten about Bea's need to leave as Bea pulled out her phone, replying, "how else am I gonna get our photos to you?"
"Ah, you're right." Eva laughed, putting her number into Bea's phone before handing it back. "Alright, you gotta go. Bye!" And with that, Eva was dashing into the studio without looking back.
