REAL LIFE!
The time had come for Eva to ask one of the most awkward questions she could possibly ask a significant other. This was, of course, Bea, which only added to the awkward; as comfortable as they were together, Eva couldn't keep a straight head around her girlfriend. She got tongue tied, she forgot how to use simple sentences, and all because Bea smiled at her or glanced in her direction. Yeah, Eva was smitten. Which made this all the more awkward.
"Hey, Bea?" She called, looking toward the general direction of the kitchen. She was, currently, draped over Bea's couch dramatically; they'd been having a movie date when Bea had promptly decided she wanted cookies, and Eva wasn't going to stop her.
"Yeah?" Bea moved to lean against the kitchen doorframe, drying her hands on a towel as she examined her girlfriend, who was staring at her upside down.
"So, I got confirmed for that show I was telling you about. You know, the one on NBC?"
"Yeah, I remember. What's up?"
"Well, my character starts off in a relationship, and I just wanted to know if you minded kissing for the sake of shows or if I need to talk my way out of it or..." Eva trailed off, fiddling with her fingers and refusing to look at the beautiful girl who she loved so dearly. Oh, shit. She loved Bea. Well, that didn't make this any easier.
"I mean, you don't want to be with him, right? So it's fine. I trust you."
"Alright." Eva sighed in relief, but there was a weight on her chest. She loved Bea. Loved her. Loved her. And Eva didn't do well with love. Her last relationship... she didn't want to think about it. Bea didn't even know. They had spent many Saturday nights talking about everything under the moon, and Eva had avoided the topic completely. They didn't talk about exes, not once. She didn't know if she could.
"You alright? Cookies are ready." There was a tap on her forehead, and her eyes opened to see Bea staring at her with concern in her eyes, pink hair tied in a messy bun.
"I'm fine," Eva replied, smiling softly at her girlfriend. Yes, she was fine. She was fine. Perfectly, completely, totally fine. There was no reason for Bea to doubt that, not even a little. "I'll be there in a second."
"Okay! And when we're done, I have something I want to show you." Bea smiled, turning and practically bouncing back into the kitchen. Eva laughed, sitting up and pulling out her phone. Yes, she would be there, but she had to text someone first.
