The relief that followed Eva's confession was palpable. She and Bea were stronger than ever, and she had mended fences with her friends, owning up to the fact that she was a mess and that she did need their support.
After a few long months of discussing pros and cons with everyone she knew, she made a decision: she was going to come forward. She needed people to know, needed them to understand, needed them to be aware of Max, especially with his involvement in the new Looking For Alaska Hulu special. She knew she would likely get crucified. She knew she could potentially lose her job in this new show. But she didn't care, honestly. She had to tell the truth.
So she called a magazine, scheduled an interview, assured it would be posted everywhere as soon as it could be. She wanted to use her platform for good. She had been an outspoken activist beforehand, but this was more direct than she could have ever expected herself to be.
She had to tell the truth. And she did.
