REAL LIFE!
"Who is she?" Eva looked up from where she was tucked into the corner of a café, setting her cup of tea down on the table and putting a finger in her book to hold her spot. She had been comfortable in her hiding spot, a place she could relax, something she desperately needed with her parents overrunning her home. The question had come from Hanna, who had a hand on her hip and her lips pursed as she stared down at Eva. The blonde raised her eyebrows and tilted her head, feigning innocence.
"Who's who?" At her response, Hanna scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"Don't play dumb with me, Eva. Who's the girl you keep hanging out with? The one that isn't your best friend?"
"I wasn't aware you had to know all of my friends, Han. I have a private life, you know, one that not everyone has to know about." Eva straightened her posture, suddenly too aware of how Hanna was looking at her. If Hanna's looks could kill, Eva would already be turned to stone. Since when had she befriended Medusa?
"I'm your best friend; I have to know everything." The annoyance in Hanna's voice was clear, and the glare she was giving Eva hardened with every passing second. Eva's reluctance to answer only upset her more, but Eva pretended not to notice as she went back to her book, taking a sip of her tea with a gleeful sigh. Hanna watched her for a moment, rolling her eyes at how nonchalant her friend was acting about this. Didn't best friends tell each other everything? Why was Eva hiding so much? Finally, Hanna sat down across from her with a thud, making Eva's gaze flit to her for a moment as she feigned surprise.
"Oh, you're still here?"
"Eva!"
"What, Hanna? Can't you see I'm trying to read?"
"Why aren't you talking to me?"
"Yeah, because my mouth isn't moving right now." Eva rolled her eyes, shaking her head.
After Khalil's statement the previous day, she was having trouble being around Hanna. Hanna had invited her out last night, but Eva had feigned illness, spending the night with Khalil instead. They had watched Disney movies, and Khalil had tweeted Disney to make Eva Rapunzel in the live action Tangled. Eva had retaliated by tweeting them to make Khalil Prince Naveen in the live action Princess and the Frog, which sent their followers into an amusing frenzy.
"C'mon, E, you've been avoiding me for the past week! Why aren't we talking?"
"I don't want to talk to you," Eva said simply, smiling as her phone went off. "Now, if you'll excuse me, Jaiden is calling, and I'd like to talk to them."
She stood up, darting outside with her things and leaving Hanna to call, "Who's Jaiden?" Eva didn't reply; she was already much too happy speaking to her sibling.

Later that night, Eva found herself snuggled into a blanket in Khalil's living room, her eyes focused on the TV in front of her. It was E!News, running a story on how Hanna and Eva were going through a fight and picturing Eva with Bea from their two nights together. Eva rolled her eyes, grinning as Khalil walked in and scoffed, handing her a cup of tea.
"Ignore them. They don't know what they're talking about at all," he remarked, and she nodded, chuckling.
"'Eva Wyatt and Bea Miller must be dating, or else they wouldn't have such a level of secrecy regarding their relationship.' It's ridiculous the things they'll come up with."
Khalil nodded at her words, but his face made it clear his mind wasn't on the conversation at all. She decided to leave it be, knowing he'd talk to her if he needed to, but then he tripped right over his couch, and she couldn't help but say, "Kuh, what's going on?"
"Nothing, I'm just... worried. Corey's been distant lately." His words evoked confusion on her part, and she found her lips parting to ask the question he was already answering. "Yes, we're dating. It started after they cancelled Girl Meets World, but he doesn't want to come out yet and I'm not gonna push him."
Eva paused, taking in his words before laughing. "Oh, so Peyton's the only straight one from the cast? Rowan owes me $40. I'm gonna unblock her number just to get that money."
"You're gay?" Khalil tilted his head, and Eva cursed as she realized what she had said.
"Uh, yeah, surprise!" She chuckled awkwardly, and Khalil grinned, getting off the couch to hug her. He whispered words of happiness to her until she was ready to let go, and the friends shared a fond smile at the secrets they had just shared.
Life might have been a mild mess for Eva right then, but she had Khalil, and that was what mattered.
