REAL LIFE!

Eva's birthday party was in full swing. People weaved in and out of her house, and presents sat upon a table in the kitchen, towering high into the night. She was confused as to why it was just her party, but it made sense. Jaiden hated the spotlight, especially on their birthday, so Eva having all of it was the best thing she could do for them.

"You look stunning," Bea called over the music that pulsed through the house, and Eva grinned, pulling her closer so they didn't have to yell.

"It's my birthday," she replied, and Bea nodded, her eyes flickering to where Eva's hand rested on her arm. "What?"

"I want to give you your present alone." Bea smiled softly after Eva nodded, pulling Eva into her room and shutting the door. That made her eyebrows furrow, and she tilted her head.

"You're not going to murder me, are you?"

"I think it would be kind of rude of me, don't you? It's your birthday." Bea laughed, but she was clearly nervous. She moved to Eva's nightstand, grabbing a small, rectangular box off it. Eva's eyes widened, her voice failing her as Bea handed it to her. "Well? Open it, E."

Eva did, very hesitantly. Inside was a silver necklace, an 'E' hanging from it delicately. She smiled at it, taking it out to find the 'E' opened. Inside, a tiny collage existed, full of pictures from their escapades.

"It's just to remind you that there are people on your side," Bea said, making Eva look up with a softer smile than before.

"I love it. Seriously, Bea, thank you."

"Of course. Here, I'll help." She took the necklace from Eva's hands, and Eva brushed her hair over her shoulder so Bea could clasp it with no problem. And there was no problem, but Bea's fingers brushed the back of Eva's neck, making her shiver slightly. Bea gave a soft laugh as Eva turned, her eyes meeting Bea's with hesitancy. She hadn't expected them to be so close, but they were. Bea was so close...

"Are you okay?" Bea asked softly, and Eva nodded, but she couldn't have been more inside her mind at the moment. Bea touched her cheek hesitantly, watching as Eva's eyes refocused onto Bea's. They shared a soft smile, and Eva tiptoed slightly, connecting their lips.

Bea startled, but she quickly melted into the kiss, her eyes fluttering shut. Eva's hand curled into Bea's hair, her fingers quickly getting tangled in it. Bea sighed, pulling Eva closer, and Eva took the chance to deepen the kiss. They continued like this for a while, probably longer than intended, until they eventually pulled away, out of breath. Eva rested their foreheads together, her hand reaching down to Bea's other one. She laced their fingers, a soft smile on her lips.

"What was that for?" Bea asked breathlessly, and Eva shrugged, opening her eyes to watch the other girl.

"The necklace, I guess." Her words left more to be desired, but she didn't give Bea a chance to push further. "We should get back. They'll get curious."

"Who?"

"My guests?" Eva laughed, beginning to walk toward the door and pulling Bea with her. Bea was hesitant, pulling Eva back toward her. Eva turned, trying to appear reluctant but failing. "Yes?"

"What are we?" Bea asked, desperately hating that they lacked a label. Eva watched her for a long moment before leaning in, pressing a kiss onto her lips that would linger for the next six hours.

"Whatever you want us to be," Eva replied, opening the door and pulling Bea into the real world, far away from their blossoming romance. The blonde didn't have time to think about them, to think about the effects of her actions. Before Bea could process Eva's words, she had disappeared into the crowd, leaving Bea a stunned, gay, disaster.

"Where have you been?" Khalil asked as he sauntered over to her, a drink in his hand. She looked at him, raising a hand to her lips before suppressing a smile.

"I don't know." She smiled, quickly walking away. He laughed, watching her go with a smile.

"You are a mess." His words never reached her, but it didn't change the fact that they were true.

He would get a confession out of her yet.
