Alexis's pov

I woke up with a slight headache due to an annoying sound that my sleepy brain could not identify. As I looked around at my surroundings, the first thought that came to me was, "where the f'ck am I?"

I suddenly felt naked as my memory of last night started to come back and I took in the sight of the room I was in. I sighed in relief, and wondered "at least it's not a girl's room."

The annoying sound that woke me up came from some dude who I found fast asleep beside me on the huge bed. He was lying on his back, snoring lightly and looked quite peaceful in his slumber. The puzzle that was my memory was completed when I sat up and the sheets dropped down to my waist... "I really did do something fun last night."

I looked at the clock on the bedside table and almost screamed in horror. "Its four am! I need to get home like right f''cking now!" Scrambling out of the bed as fast as I possibly could without making a sound, I found my clothes scattered across the floor and furniture and headed for the door that I supposed lead to the bathroom.

I softly shut the door and looked around the room and stepped under the shower. Turning it on, I smiled to myself as I thought, "at least he has hot water. Hey, that's not the only thing that's hot in here...."

I took the quickest shower I possible could before drying off with the cleanest towel I found in the bathroom, then yanked on my clothes. I tried making myself look presentable with a tiny brush I found after I cleaned it off. Adding some lip gloss to my lips before I slowly creaked the door open again. I poked my head out to look if he was still sleeping then I tipped-toed towards the door.

As I grasped the door handle I thought I should probably write him a note or something. I searched in my handbag and found some sticky note pads and a pen and started to scribble. I wrote one word and stopped. "Dear...." What's his name? "Mark? Max? Malcolm? No... Matthew."

I looked at the guy and shook my head at my own stupidity. He had really great curly brown hair so long it covered his eyes. And yummy looking lips that reminded me of why I ended up here, to begin with, they were now slightly open and moved as he snored.

I sighed in frustration. "You know what, screw this. I'm going home."

The outside was a little bit dark but had enough light to see properly. I hugged myself as the fog enveloped me and thanked the stars that I brought my jacket with me. I looked at the sign that read what street I was on and laughed in relief that I was not far from my place. Taking one last look at the house, I turned and walked home thinking one thing. "Destiny is gonna be so mad..."

I entered through the gates of my front lawn and found that the only light on in the house belonged to the living room. The guilt built up right in my throat because I knew that I would open the doors and find DJ fast asleep on the couch. He was up waiting for me last night, while I was up doing..... Some crazy shit.

Guess who's not a heavy sleeper? The second I opened the door DJ'S eyes popped open and he yawned widely as he rubbed them. And as soon as those eyes landed on me, I knew what was going to happen.

"Good morning," I said in the tiniest voice ever, trying to lighten the icy air that fell between us.

"Where were you?" He asked, not at all fazed by me.

"Umm..." I hummed nervously, avoiding his eyes, "I told you yesterday before I left."

"Where did you stay?" He asked with genuine concern.

I bit down on my bottom lip before I answered. "At Mary's."

I could tell he didn't believe a single word I just said.
"I stayed up all night waiting for you!" He said, voice rising as he spoke, "I was worried sick that something happened. I wanted to go find you but I had no idea where you went. And you didn't even think of calling me, did you?"

I opened my mouth to talk but he cut me off. "No! No, you didn't. Because you don't care, right? You don't care to tell your best friend that you're fine and not to wait up for you because you won't be coming home."

I blinked back my tears as I felt them coming and hung my head in guilt and shame. I was having so much fun I totally forgot him here. He was silent for a while as he watched me. I knew that because he always watched my body language to find out my next move. Sometimes I hate when my bestie knows me like that.

A single teardrop made its way to the floor in front of me and I heard Destiny curse under his breath as he got up from the couch. He quickly came up to me and hugged me tightly. "I am so so sorry. Know that I didn't mean a thing I just said, okay?"

I tried to control my emotions as I figured out a way to make this all better. We were never like this, it all just happened so fast. I took a deep breath as I pulled away from him, looked into his warm eyes and found myself smiling.

"Wanna go to the park later?" I asked.

"No." Was his reply because he was still a bit pissed.

"Okay." I shrugged my shoulders and rolled my eyes at him before I headed straight to my room to get ready for school.

It only took me a few minutes to get ready because I had already taken a bath. I brushed my teeth, changed my clothes and placed my chosen sweets in my backpack and headed back to the front door. I saw DJ heading towards me from the kitchen, smiling a bit.

"Yes." He said.

I looked at him confused, "what for?"

"Yes, I'm going to the park with you later." He said rolling his eyes dramatically.

I laughed in happiness as I hugged him only to hear him say after a while, "but ice cream and popcorn are on you this time."

I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before I sprinted for the door. Chris was supposed to meet me first thing before class for her guide to the next classes.
