Destiny's POV

I don't really have anything against parties. I just hate anywhere where a lot of people gather to drink and pretend that they don't have a care in the world. The next morning they wake up with a splitting headache, in someone else's bed or a godforsaken hotel room, naked with a stranger and have no freaking idea what the f'ck happened in the last few hours.

Of course that's not always the case. Sometimes none of that happens and you end up throwing up all alone in your own house and nursing your hungover with all the curtains closed and no gaps for sunlight. Or you have to do the walk of shame the very same night so you don't have the exciting experience of waking up in the stranger's bed. And in some cases, you may be lucky enough to pick up a surprise in the form of an unplanned pregnancy or STD.

Now I probably sound like that furry green dude who they always accuse of "stealing Christmas" every year. Come on, give the guy a break, he's just trying to tell you, in his own twisted way, that you don't have to get presents on Christmas. I strayed away from topic again, where was I. Oh yeah! Parties aren't all that bad. You get to spend even more time with friends and meet new people and also celebrate something.

To me, it does more harm than good. The main reason why I hate parties though, is because, nothing. Nevermind. Alexis walked inside my room just as I finished tying my shoelaces. Her purple and black sneakers reminded me of her last birthday. I still feel warm inside from that the hug she gave me.

"How do I look?" She chirped excitedly, the sweets still in her system.

She was in a purple high waist pants, one of those short tops that leave a little skin showing and her navel peaking out a bit. I don't know much about fashion, but I knew she looked good, like she looks to me everyday. She had on silver earrings, a necklace and a bracelet, no make up and her shoulder length hair brushed down neatly.

"Wow." I said, forgetting the exact question she asked me. Lexi blushed a little and held up two different color lip glosses.

"Cherry or grape?" She asked.

Was she really asking me to choose her cosmetics? The last time she did that was on my fifth birthday and I ended up wearing blue glitters in my hair for the entire day. She stamped her feet impatiently, waiting on me.

"Cherry." I said, unsure.

"Okay." She said, throwing the mentioned lip gloss at me a applying the grape one to her lips.

"Ready?"

I stood up as I answered. "Yeah, I guess so."

"No, not quite," she said, regarding me seriously. "Come here, something's missing."

I got close and Lexi held me by my shirt collar and pulled me down to her level, kissing my lips softly before she let me go. "Perfect."

I grinned stupidly, licking my lips as I led her towards the door. The taste of the lip gloss taking me by surprise. "Are all your lip glosses made of sweets Lexi? This one taste like grape Jell-O."

"Shut up DJ."

We got to the club at around eight thirty, Christina met us halfway there because we had no idea where we were going. The club was at the ground floor of a much bigger building. Neon yellow and green lights highlighted the word "Sexy" in huge letters with rooms and bar in smaller, less noticeable writing. A balcony hung from the top floor with three barely covered girls laughing over glasses of something pee colored.

"Ain't nothing about this place is sexy." I found myself saying without really thinking, something Lexi normally does, not me.

I earned a punch from my girlfriend as we joined the back of the long line that faced the entrance of the club. We could hear the deafening music from all the way out here. This was gonna be a long night.

We stood in the line for about five seconds before Christina pulled us out and tell us to follow her. Turns out we could just walk to the front of the line, have Christina Banks flash the two guards a huge smile and say her name and we're in. Awesome.

Did I mention how much I hate this place? I instantly wanted to turn back and go straight home, but Alexis held my hands and wrapped them around her tummy. I decided to act like a jerk and glare at every guy who dared to leer at my Lexi. Christina disappeared and came back with a grin on her face that I did not like.

"Guys, the bar is over there!" She shouted over the noise and Lexi jumped excited and looked up at me.

I rolled my eyes at her. "You're not getting drunk. Remember why we're here."

"Just one drink baby." She answered, turning around to cup my cheeks. "We need to blend in with the others."

"Fine." I sighed, giving up. I hesitantly let her go and began to fight my way through the thick, half wasted crowd.

When I got to the bar and looked back the way I came from, I couldn't see a sign of Alexis and tried to keep my worries at bay. I also tried to reassure my thoughts with the knowledge that I left her with Chris. That failed as soon as I thought about it. Its not that I don't trust Chris with my girlfriend slash best friend since birth. It's just that Christina was the one who's been getting Lexi into parties like this ever since the start of the school year.

The bar tender was one of the many half naked females in the building. She was a bit different though, with earrings and tattoos all over and seemed to be chewing on the one gum all night.

"What can I do you for handsome?" She asked, placing her elbows on the counter and purposely showing me her full.... Umm chest area. I could have told her I've seen better, but she'd probably get me kicked out if I did.

"Can I get three shots of whatever you have that doesn't get you drunk fast."

She blinked in slight surprise at first and then turned to get my order. She handed me a small tray of something transparent in three tiny glass cups, then she resumed her flirting as she handed me the tray, twirling her hair and smiling.

"Wanna get together later?" She asked.

"No thanks," I replied with a grin that Lexi knew very well. "But don't despair, I'm sure some desperate dude will come looking for you."

I paid her, and turned around to search for Lexi and found the guards we passed at the door and one other blocking my way. Something told me that they weren't there because of what I said to the bar lady.

"Having fun Destiny?" The biggest one said as the other two suddenly grabbed me, spilling the drinks on some poor girl standing unfortunately close to us.
