Destiny's pov
The loud groan coming from upstairs announced that Alexis was awake. I looked at my wrist watch and shook my head. It's only seven o'clock, she's not done sleeping yet, because, one, it's Saturday and two, I am pretty sure she has a headache from last night.
I stirred her cup of tea as I added milk and waited for Lexi to find her way to the kitchen. As I did so, I wondered how well she slept last night, because I certainly didn't. I was sipping coffee in the study room, finishing up some assignments when I heard the front door open. By the time I got to the living room, Alexis was fast asleep on the floor with her head resting on the sofa.
I took her up to her room, secretly enjoying how she felt in my arms and placed her gently on her bed. I figured she would not be comforting, sleeping in her party clothes, so I put her in her pajamas. I did all that without waking her and felt a little happy with myself as I forgot my school work to take a very, icy cold shower.
I tried to sleep afterward, but I couldn't. You know those few minutes right before you fall asleep when all the crazy and/or weird thoughts start to pace your brain? It was just like that except it went on for more than just a few minutes and my thoughts were mainly about my sexy ass best friend who was fast asleep in the room next to mine.
It was driving me crazy! After tossing and turning for what seemed like hours, I decided to go back to my assignments. When I found that I could not concentrate on those either, I went to the garage which I converted to a small workout room about a year ago. I put on some music, turning it down really low and did some stretching, starting off my workout routine.
It worked.
I smiled at Alexis as she sleepily dragged herself into the kitchen, rubbing her eyes and yawning cutely. She had her hair sticking out in every direction and her nightgown hung off one of her shoulders, showing a glimpse of her PJs underneath and a little cleavage. She groaned again as she approached me and I took it as a good morning.
Being the best friend that I am, I stated the obvious. "Damn Lexi, you look like shit."
She grinned at me with her eyes still half closed and was about to slap me when I held out her cup of tea to save myself. She took the cup from me without saying anything and sipped at it once before taking a big gulp. She didn't thank me verbally, but I felt appreciated when she let out the sexiest moan I have ever heard in a long while.
"Hmmmm!" She closed her eyes and smiled brightly as she swallowed. Oh, I love this girl.
"That good huh?" I asked, infected by her radiant smile, the complete contrast of how she was just a few minutes ago.
She answered by coming closer to me, stood on her tip toes and kissed me on the cheeks. She then left the kitchen and headed to her room for her second sleeping session. I was stuck savoring her sweet scent. She always smells of Chocolate and flowery perfume.
Alexis's pov
"Deeeeejaaayyy!" I sang my bestie's name as I opened the door that leads to the workout room.I woke up about half an hour ago and felt energized by the bath I had and some macaroni and cheese. My plans for the day involved making up for the days I've been missing DJ and finishing up the few assignments I had left to do. Oh, and I also planned on introducing him to Chris, because she insisted on meeting him today.
I tapped on my phone as I stepped into the room. Finesse by Bruno Mars and Cardi B assaulted my ears as I searched the place for my best friend. I found him in the far corner of the room doing push-ups and before I knew it, I found myself staring at him as he moved.
Nice ass, I thought right before I shook my head to clear my mind. Where did that come from? I went over to the source of the music and turned down the volume of his phone. DJ had one hand behind his back as the other pushed him up. He turned to look at me, slightly annoyed but I just smiled at him.
"Look who just woke up at twelve o'clock." He said as he stood up, grabbing his t-shirt and wiped his face with it.
I rolled my eyes at him. "Chris is coming over, and I want you to meet her," I replied, ignoring his comment.
"Oh, great." He groaned, "just so you know, I don't like her."
"But you haven't even met her yet," I argued.
"I don't have to meet her to dislike the person who has been stealing my best friend away from me every night." He replied immediately like he rehearsed it all before I brought up the topic.
"It's not every night," I whined, slowly getting irritated myself.
"I don't care. I hardly ever see you, and when I do, it's just for a few minutes because you gotta go somewhere."
"I am so sick of arguing with you!" I yelled at the DJ.
"Me too!" He yelled back.
We stood in front of each other, glaring at the other person. Me concentrating more on keeping my eyes on his so it doesn't stray to any other part of his well muscled, sweaty torso. I swear, there is something wrong with me today. My mind went back to the strong arms that carried me upstairs last night and when I woke up in my pajamas this morning.
"Thanks for not letting me sleep on the couch last night," I said without thinking.
"The only part of you on the couch was your head." He replied.
We both laughed lightly and the tension was quickly broken. I turned to leave, aware of Destiny following behind me as I headed for the fridge to hand him his bottled water.
"Thank you." He said.
"Get dressed, I'm going to meet Chris and bring her here like right now. And we're going roller skating later and watch some scary movies in town afterward." I ordered as I headed for the door.
