I wake up in my bunk, confused. But then I remember what she said. It would be like I was reliving the day all over again. My heart feels like it has broken. It has. I just had to go through the whole day again. Making it feel like it's that week all over again.
But the thing is, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. No one really stood out to me. Nothing but my girlfriend dying. And me feeling as if I was dying too.
I relieved the day for nothing. Absolutely nothing. Just feel this sadness creep in again. I wish I would have saw something. Something that made me realise who it is. But I just got nothing. And it frustrates me to no end.
"Maeve." I say into my pillow, groaning. Why can't any of this be easy?
I shake my thoughts away and jump down out of my bunk. We are free today. I would like to hang out with Zayn. Maybe he knows something about that day. Maybe he saw something.
I walk to the back and see him on his phone. I am pretty sure he is taking selfies. But I am not one to judge.
"Hey, mate." He says, patting the spot next to him as he locks his phone. "What's up?"
"I was just wondering if you would want to hang with me today? Maybe do some shopping or something?" I ask, shrugging.
"Yeah, sure!" He says, smiling at me. "The other lads will probably sleep all day anyway!"
"We can go whenever you're ready." I say to him. He nods. I am sure he will take at least an hour to get ready. Even though he looks perfectly fine now.
"I'm just going to go get ready real quick." Zayn says, standing up and walking towards his bunk. I pull my phone out and get on Twitter.
As predicted, Zayn takes almost an hour. But it's honestly okay. It's only half eleven now, so everything is really just now opening. We call for a car and then leave.
"Do you remember that time Maeve almost killed us all?" Zayn says, laughing. We stopped to eat first at nice little restaurant.
"You'll have to be more specific!" I say, laughing with him. There are too many times to count that she has almost killed us all.
"It was the time she took off in the bus?" He says, and I do remember.
"Yeah! Gosh, I remember her saying that she wanted to do it. I didn't even think she was serious! But as soon as we got on she grabbed the keys and took off! Everyone was so mad!" I like memories like this. Ones I can laugh at.
"When she finally took us back, after almost driving off the fucking bridge, everyone rushed on to make sure we were all okay. And all we were doing was laughing. God, I laughed so hard that day!" He says, smiling slightly.
"It was a good day!" I reply, taking a drink to smooth my throat.
"She was a good person, yeah?" Zayn sighs.
"She was the best." I nod.
"Can I be honest for a second?" Zayn asks. I nod at him to continue. "I thought that she would be around forever. Like I never imagined her not being here one day. She was this permanent thing in all our lives. And I thought you guys would grow old together, maybe have a few kids. You guys were the happiest couple I know. And I just can't imagine what it feels like to have something like that ripped away from you."
