It's two in the afternoon when our flight lands, this will give us time to rest and prepare for work tomorrow. Speaking of work, this is my last month as an intern and in no time I will be graduating.
Hayden and I take a cab from airport to take us to my place, I told him time and time again that I am fine, but he seems to think otherwise. The drive to my place is short, there isn't much traffic at this hour especially on a weekend.
I unlock the door to my apartment, I know I was gone for just two days, but I missed this place. It has become my safe haven, I was debating going back to Florida these past weeks, wondering if I truly want to live there after graduation, but now after the weekend at home, I am certain that I don't want to go back there.
I will never see what was my home for the most part of my life the same again, it feels wrong to see it as home. I don't know if I will ever look at mum the same, knowing that she caused my dad so much pain. As for Paul, how do I face him—do I call him Paul or dad—does this change everything he has ever done for me?
He was the one to wipe away my tears every time I fell scraped my knee, when I fought with Lily, he was the one who convinced me to see things from Lily's point of view, when mum was scolding me it was him who calmed her down, when mum was against me studying in New York, he talked to her and made her see reason and even when I needed a dad, he was there.
"Victoria, come here." Says Hayden, his eyes looking at me with an emotion I can't figure out.
'Why are you looking at me like that?' I think I know the emotion in his eyes, but I'm not ready to come to terms with it.
"How am I looking at you?"
'I don't know, like you want to eat me or something.' I lie, not ready to delve into the true meaning behind his look.
"What if I do?" He questions and I see his grey eyes getting darker.
'Why don't you find out?' I tease him and he comes closer to me, walking slowly like hunter when closing in on its prey.
"Are you sure you want that love, I'm afraid you might not handle me" he whispers in my ear licking my earlobe.
'I can handle you just fine.' I say breathless.
Instead of continuing with words, he decides to act. His mouth latches on my sweet spot just below my ear, kisses his way to my jaw and neck. His hands go under my top and he finds my twins bare, this makes him go crazy, his mouth finds my lips—it's like I'm on fire—his hands play with my buds—pinching and pulling—his tongue teases my mouth asking for entrance and just as I am about to give it to him, his phone breaks the spell.
"Let's ignore it, I will get back to whoever it is." He says with a hoarse voice kissing my collarbone.
'It might be important, take it.' comes out a breathless answer and he takes out the phone out if his pocket.
"This better be good James, what do you need?" He says to who I believe to be Jamie.
He knits his eyebrows to whatever Jamie is saying, and listens nodding his head and hangs up with "I will tell her."
'What's wrong?'
"I think you should check your phone, Mo's dinner with Jamie's dad didn't go very well last night and she has been ignoring his calls."
'Did he try going to her place?' I ask searching for my phone in my handbag.
"He did, she is not there and her roommate said she didn't come home last night."
'What! If she didn't sleep home, where could she be?' I ask no one in particular and see missed calls from Mo, mum and dad.
'Oh Hade!'
