Sams POV

I was clinging to Colby as he carefully and slowly carried me up the stairs and I was shaking a little. I was scared as shit, but I couldn't let him go by himself, what if something happened to him? As we walked up the stairs we heard more scratching, and I put my thumb in my mouth nervously. Colby held me close and rubbed my back as he sighed and kissed the side of my head.

"It's okay it's okay, nothings gonna happen to you." He spoke softly and I nodded and hugged the bear close to my chest while clinging to him. When we finally reached the top of the stairs and I hid in the crook of his neck a little and he started looking around. Most of the rooms were empty or untouched but when we got to the room in the middle it was completely trashed with claw marks across the walls. "What the hell?" He whispered as he started walking into the room, and that's when we saw her. The small girl in the corner with Corey red hair. Her head snapped up and she looked up at us, with big fearful eyes.

"Oh my god." I breathed as I snapped out of little space and Colby put me down. "How long have you been up here?" She didn't say anything she just stared at me looking helpless. I started to carefully walk toward her and she continued to look at me then Colby gasped and grabbed my arm.

"Sam don't. That's not a little girl." I looked back at him confused.

"Colby she's scared no terrified right now. Let me help her." I turned and the girl was only curled into a small ball. "It's okay we're not going to hurt you. I just want to help get you out of here." I was a few feet from her when she smiled.

"You're right you won't hurt me" she said in a high pitched voice before it dropped to a demonic growl. "But I'm gonna hurt you!" Then she lunged and me and slammed me to the ground causing me to gasp and scream as she dug her pitchfork nails into my shoulders as her form turned to a grey crumbling demon girl with eye sockets filled with pools of red instead of eyes.

"Damn it!" Colby yelled and he started to run toward her but she looked up and stopped.

"Colby it's okay. I'm okay. It was a trick. This thing trapped me up here and tried to lure you into the dark but I was able to get your attention." The creature said and I looked her confused before looking at Colby.

"What the hell?! Colby get her off of me- Ahhhh!" I screamed in pain and squirmed under her.

"I-I don't-"

"It's me. Come on Colby you know it's me" that thing said softly and I started to cry. He wouldn't believe me. His goal was only to protect me, but he always knew I could protect myself. He would never think this thin wasn't me and he was going to kill me because of it. Colby looked at me and tilted his head to the side as I started to slip and I hugged the bear close to me. Then something clicked inside his mind and he started walking toward us as he pulled out his knife. The thing got off of me and stood up as she looked at Colby with bright eyes.

"I love you so much"

"I know. Too bad you won't be around very long to prove it." And with that he ran the knife through her stomach and she gasped as she clutched her stomach and looked up at him.

"Colby....why? How could you.....? I-I loved you and you just....stabbed me."

"No I stabbed a demon witch." He hissed as he walked over to me and knelt next to me with tears in his eyes. "Baby I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry" I burst into a new round of tears as I rolled toward him and he gently picked me up. Then I felt dizzy and I started to see black spots as my world spun. "Hey. Hey hey hey Sam you have to hold on. You have to hold on for me please. Don't let go. Don't let go just stay with me you'll be okay." I groaned and my eyes started to feel heavy as I snuggled close to the bear.

"S-Sleepy"

"Princess you have to stay awake for me. Please just stay awake" he said as he picked me up and started carrying me down the stairs. "Just stay awake you'll be okay." But I couldn't stay awake and I slowly slipped into a soft happy darkness
