Family

Sams POV

I didn't know who was at the door but at the moment I didn't care. I had this new room that was just for me with toys and coloring books and stuffies and a million other things that made me feel smaller and smaller. I was in the middle of coloring a picture of a kitten when I heard Colby coming up the stairs, but he wasn't alone. The made me stiffen and Devyn picked me up and held me close as she looked at the door and Corey stood in front of us to block me from whoever came through the door.

"Just give me a second." I heard Colby say to someone before he opened the door and walked in before instantly closing it behind him. "It's okay Sammy it's just me, I won't let anyone else come in here." I poked my head out from behind Colby with a paci still in my mouth as I looked at him nervously.

"Who was at the door?" Devyn asked as she handed me to Colby. He took a deep breath and looked at me with soft eyes.

"It's Sams family." I instantly stiffened, dropped right out of little space and my paci fell from my mouth.

"What?!" I asked in surprise and looked at him.

"Your family is here, in the hallway." I blinked a few times as Colby set me down and I started to pace as I grabbed my hair.

"Oh my god oh my god oh my god." They never really showed up like this so why were they here now.

"Hey hey hey" Colby gently grabbed my shoulders and made me look at him. "It's gonna be okay, we'll figure this out"

"What if something goes wrong? What if I lose control in front of my parents, Hell they don't even know we're dating." I was starting to panic and my eyes were starting to her big which was making me panic even more.

"We will get through this, but you need to take a deep breath and calm down. And maybe your family will support you in this. I mean I know
Allison will."

"H-How do you know that?" I asked trying to take deep breaths.

"Because she's taking care of one, and she gave me a look of understanding when I came in here." That made me relax a little to know at least someone in my family wouldn't try to kill me.

"Alright....but I'm guessing we don't have big clothes for me in here."

"No but it's not like it'll be that hard to get them. Your parents don't know what's in here and Allison could easily bring you clothes since she'd understand." I nodded and sighed as I sat on the ground and grabbed the bunny I had been coloring next to. Colby then ducked back out of the room and Devyn knelt in front of me and smiled.

"Everything will be okay Sammy I promise." I nodded and decided to go back to coloring to try and calm down. Five minutes later the door opened again and I whirled around and stiffened in fear, but it was just Allison. I still felt a little nervous but I wasn't as stiff as I sat up and looked at her.

"Hi Sammy" she said in a soft voice as she smiled sitting in front of me. "It's okay you don't have to be scared of me, I don't hate you for who you are." I nodded slowly as I continued to look at her. "So, does Colby take care of you then?" I have her another slow nod as she placed the clothes in front of me. "That's really good, I knew you two would get together." I giggled and blushed, half hiding behind my bunny. She smiled and gently pet my head. "Well if you ever need anything while We're here and you don't want to give up either of your covers just let me know Alright?" I nodded and hugged her tightly as I sighed.

"Tanks ally"

"Any time Sammy, any time" she hugged me back, and when she let go she stood up and slipped out of the room. Once she was gone Devyn helped me get changed and slowly coaxed me out of headspace. Once I was out of headspace I sighed and stood up hugging each of them for their help before walking out to see my parents. I quickly closed the door behind me just as my mom walked up to me and hugged me.

"Sammy!" She exclaimed as she hugged me and I hugged her back, cringing slightly at the name.

"Hey mom" I said with a soft sigh as I hugged her, rolling my eyes at Allison. When we pulled apart I looked at her and realized it was just Allison and my mom. I looked between the two of them curiously. "Why exactly are you two here?"

"Ben and dad went on a Boy Scout camping trip so mom thought we would stop by." Alison said and I laughed.

"So dad just left you two at home, and you didn't want to be alone?" Alison nodded with a laugh and my mom just shrugged.

"You don't think I just wanted to see my son?"

"He doesn't have to think mom. He knows that's not why your here because you would have texted him on your way here." I laughed and nodded.

"She's got a point" my mom sighed and then rolled her eyes.

"Oh whatever." She shook her head and walked back down the stairs. Colby came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me once she got downstairs and I smiled, leaning into his arms.

"I don't like having to act like I don't love you" He whispered to me and I gently ran my fingers through his hair.

"I know, I hate it too, but it'll only be a few days. And it's not like their gonna stay here the entire time" Alison smiled and shook her head.

"I'll try to drag my mother out of your hair for most of the week we're here but I can only do so much" I laughed and smiled at her as I placed my hands on Colby's.

"It'll be alright I think. We should be able to survive a few days"
