I wake up to a blaring siren outside, I quickly wake up Ash and then look out side to see four police cars outside.
There are three police officers walking up to the door.
"Ash, I think now is a good time to run to Canada." I say with my voice trembling.
"Why whats going on?" He asks while rubbing his eyes.
"Look outside." I say pointing to the window.
"Follow me, we have to run." He says with urgency evident in his tone.
I nod and we run to the kitchen where the back door is.
"You have five seconds to come out of the house or we are coming in." Blares a loud speaker.
We are running towards the fence in my back yard and we start to climb when I hear, "Five. . . four. . . three. . . two. . . one."
We are screwed.
"They are getting away!" We hear someone yell as we are reaching the top of the fence.
"Get them!" Someone screams loudly.
"Run!" I yell to Ash.
I am running as fast as I can without falling and face planting the hard ground.
After a while of running I see a tall tree that we can try to climb and hide in until it gets dark or until they leave.
I tell Ash my idea and we start to climb until we make it to the top, when I get to the top I feel like I am about to pass out, but I can't because we are currently trying to hide from the police.
"Now would be a good time to go to Canada." I say as a joke trying to lighten the mood.
"This is all my fault." Ash mumbles.
"It's not your fault." I say trying to reassure him.
"Yes it is, if I hid my feelings towards you for another year we wouldn't be in this situation right now--so it is all my fault."
"No it's not, even if it was do remember the promise we made when we were three?" I ask him and he shakes his head no. "we promised that no matter what we would stay at each others side and support each other no matter what."
After I say that he smiles, "You remember that?"
"Of course." I say and kiss his cheek.
"I think we lost them, we should probably find a place to stay for the night." He says.
"What if they are waiting for us to come down?" I ask.
"We would have heard them, its hard to walk silently through the woods." He says and I nod.
Together we start to climb down the tree and make it down in about thirty minutes.
"I think there is a motel about five miles away from here." Ash says.
"Do you think it is an obvious place to stay?" I ask hoping that they won't find us here.
"No, I went here once and there was nobody else besides a person who got lost in the woods and needed somewhere to stay."
"Okay, let's go." I say

After about nearly two hours we finally find the motel.
It doesn't look very pleasant but it will be a good enough place to hide until tomorrow.
We easily break into an empty room and block off the door so nobody can get in.
"Do you want to sleep like how we usually do?" Ash asks.
"Uh. . . sure." I say he lays at the end of the bed.
"Good night, Jessie." He says after he lays down.
I would reply but I am too far gone.
