After about twenty minutes we pull up to a fancy Italian restaurant called, Bella Monica.
"This place looks beautiful." I say in awe.
"It's the most beautiful restaurant in New York." Great grandfather says proudly.
"I can't wait to try the food." Ash says practically drooling.
"Stop drooling, you will get it all over your suit." I say jokingly.
"Sorry." He says laughing. "It just smells so good."
"We can't smell it from out here." I say.
"I can, I can smell anything food related from miles away." He says proudly.
"Enough, lets just go eat." Iris says walking towards the front door and opening it for us.
"Yes! I'm starving." He says while running in and waiting for us.
I run up to him because he is going to get too jittery by just standing there by himself, I laugh at the thought and get weird looks from the people around me.
"Why did you laugh?" He asks.
"No reason." I say as my grandfather walks in.
"Reservations under Nelson Cicely." He says and the hostess looks at her list.
"Follow me." She says after she grabs four fancy looking menus.
We follow her to a room in the back that is cut off, I guess this is the section for reservations.
She places the menus down on a beautiful table and I sit down.
I sit next to Ash, my grandfather sits across from me, and Iris sits next to him.
"What would you like to drink?" Asks a waitress after the hostess leaves.
"Water, please." I say.
"Me too." Says Ash.
"I would like wine." Iris says.
"Wine? The Changing is tonight so not too much, we can't have you drunk." Grandfather warns. "And I would like champagne, please."
The waitress nods and walks away.
"I won't." Iris says.
"Promise?" Ash asks.
"Promise." She grumbles.
"Good." I say. "The Changing is tonight, what should we expect?"
"Nothing major, just troops being sent out and notifying every state that there will be a law change, and when it happens everyone should remain calm." Grandfather says. "Also, there will be an emergency broadcast on all televisions notifying the country on it's changes."
"How long will it take to change the country back completely?" Iris asks.
"A few weeks, maybe a month, maybe a year." He says.
"What is the most likely?"
"A few months." He says then the waitress comes back with our drinks.
"What would you like to eat?" She asks.
"Spaghetti with red sauce please." I say.
"Me too!" Ash and Iris say at the same time.
"Chicken parmesan, please." Grandfather says.
"I will be right back with your meals." She says then walks away.
After about fifteen minutes the waitress comes back and passes us our food along with a basket of bread sticks.
"Thank you." We all say simultaneously.
I take a bite into my spaghetti and it is mouthwateringly delicious, I have never had spaghetti this good.
"This is amazing." I say grabbing a breadstick and taking a huge bite of it.
The breadstick is even better than the spaghetti.
I quickly finish my food because it is starting to get late.
"That was incredible." Ash says.
"It really was." Iris says.
"We should get going now, the Changing is going to start in a few hours." Grandfather says and we all nod our heads.
Only a few more hours.
