I feel a enormous burst of pain on my upper arm.
Ash turn's around and runs toward me then picks me up and whispers, "Stay with me, please."
"I will." I whisper very, very quietly struggling to keep my eyes open.
I hear another gun shot and another person collapses, then Iris grabs his jacket and throws it to Ash then he wraps it about by arm to stop the bleeding.
"Please don't close your eyes." He says and I open my eye's again, I watch him run and not stop.
My eye's want to close so badly and my body want's rest but I don't let it.
My body is having a war between life and death, and death is winning, my eyes close again but I force them open.
I list reasons why I should stay--Ash, Iris, my mom, Clary, Chris (Ash's dad), all my friends, and many more reasons that I cannot think about because it would cause me to have a headache and to have the urge to close my eyes even more.
Ash looks down at me thoughtfully, "Only a little longer."
"Okay." I manage to whisper while trying to fight off the abnormal desire to sleep.
"We are out!" Iris yells while shooting down two more guards and quickly taking their jackets.
Ash quickly catches up to her and they sprint towards the woods.

When we finally get to the woods and we are far enough from the prison it is around nine and it is freezing, and I can't keep my eyes open anymore, "Ash. . . please." I say.
"Please, what?" He asks while gently lying me down on the ground.
"I'm freezing. . . p-please." I say with my lower lip wobbling and my whole body shaking.
He quickly grabs two of the seven jackets we stole and brings them over to me. He helps me sit up then takes off the bloody jacket because the bleeding stopped, there is no bullet because I read in a book that bullets' dissolve after being imbedded under the skin.
"I will put one on you like you would as a sweater then use the other one for your legs, even though you are wearing pants. Okay?" He says soothing and calmly.
"Okay." I say then he helps me get the jacket on.
After it is on comfortably he adjusts the collar and zips is up.
"I will be next to you and Iris will be across from you." He says in the same soothing voice he was using before and so nod.
I watch him grab two jackets for himself, and put them on the same way he did for me then he lays down next to me.
"Goodnight." He whispers.
"Good night, and don't forget." I say.
"Don't forget what?" He asks.
"That I. . . that I--" I say not being able to finish what I was saying before I fall asleep.
Don't forget that I love you, Ash Tate. Forever and always.
