I'm Not Perfect | Seamus Finnigan

The Chamber

Seamus, Luna, and I were walking down the corridor when we saw a bunch of students crowded around a wall with a message written in blood on it.

"Blimey. Is that... blood?" I asked.

"It looks like it, but I'm not sure." Seamus said, looking at it in fear.

"What does it say?" I asked.

We got a better view and read the message.

"The chamber of secrets has been opened. Enemy of the heir.... beware." I read.

"What chamber?" Luna asked

"I don't know." Seamus answered.

My eyes traveled to the right of the heir where a cat was hanging from the wall.

I jumped back.

"What?" Seamus asked.

"Is that... Mrs. Norris?" 

"Filch's cat? Why is it... is it -?"

Dumbledore, Filch, and Proffesor McGonagall came pushing through the crowd of students.

Filch gasped at what he saw. 

"Mrs - Mrs. Norris!"

Dumbldore inspected the cat.

"She's just petrified. She'll be fine."

"FINE?! She's not moving and you call that FINE?!"

We were told to leave and continue to our classes.

A few weeks later a student was petrifed, and people started to panick. Colin Creevey was petrified.

Later, Justin Finch-Fletchly and Nearly Headless Nick.

"How could someone petrify a ghost?" I asked Seamus and Luna.

"I'm not sure if it's possible for someone to petrify a ghost with a wand... but it has to be possible somehow because it happened."

We were walking to our class when Ron and Harry came rushing past.

"Harry what's wrong?" I asked.

"Hermione's been petrified!"

I immediatly turned and ran with them to the hospital wing. Seamus and Luna followed behind me.

When we got there we saw Hermione. It was like she was frozen in time.

"Hermione!" I said, "I wish we knew who's doing this! They've got it coming to them! I'll sock them in the head the moment they're revealed!"

"People are thinking it's me." Harry said.

"But it couldn't be you! Why would you have a reason to petrify Hermione?"

He explained what happened at dueling club about the snake and speaking parsletongue.

"I believe you Harry." 

"That's good to know."

"What's this in her hand?" Ron asked.

He pulled out a piece of paper from her hand.

It had information about a Basilisk. And she had written one word on it, "Pipes."

"It's a basilisk! It's using the pipes to get around the school!" Ron exclaimed.

Weeks later, they were discussing that Hogwarts may be closed down.

Shortly after, we were all informed that we had to stay in our common rooms. A student was taken into the chamber.

Word was going around that it was Ginny.

"No! Ginny!" I said sitting on my bed. Luna was sitting next to me.

"Harry and Ron are going to get her." Luna told me.

"How do you know?" I asked,

"I heard them talking about it." Luna answered.

Dumbledore came to get me later and brought me up to his office seeing as I was a friend of Ginny's.

I about cried when I saw Ginny step out.

"GINNY!" Mrs. Weasley and I yelled at the same time.

We both hugged her.

"Ginny! People were saying someone got taken into the chamber, and then people were saying it was you and I didn't know what to think!" I said, "Fred, George, and Percy must have been so worried!"

As if on cue, Fred, George, and Percy came running in. "Ginny!" They yelled, joining the hug.

"You made Percy cry!" George said.

"Well so did you!" Percy said defensively.

"But we've never seen you cry!" Fred said.

"Looks like I missed out on the adventure." I said to Ron and Harry as we were leaving Hogwarts.

"I didn't have much of an adventure.  I got stuck behind a collapsed wall and had to deal with Lockheart. He lost his memory." Ron said, "Harry got to do all the fun stuff."

"That was anything but fun! I almost got killed by a basilisk!" Harry yelled.

I laughed.

I was sitting in a train compartment with Seamus and Luna when the train arrived at the station. We were standing outside the train.

"Hey Seamus... I -" but I was cut off by Ginny. "Come on Emma! We have to go!"

I looked back at him while I was being dragged off. I waved and he waved silently.

"Bye! See you next year!" he yelled.

"You too!" I yelled back.
